In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I grew up in rural farmland, 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store. I’m an artist, a journalist, and a once small business owner. I’m a working-class woman who put myself through a writing degree at OSU in the face of chronic illness, full-time work, and my mother dying of cancer.

I never planned to be a politician, but my entire life has been filled with unprecedented, once-in-a-lifetime events. Something is very wrong, and I will do the work to set things right that others won’t.

Our government is filled with ultra-rich, sellouts, cowards, and representatives who prioritize their largest donors over the needs of their constituents.

I’ve had enough. Haven’t you?

Help me fight back against the oligarchy, against fascism, and against a system that has forgotten a very important fact: the government works for The People.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

We need to make our government work for the people, not for profit; the government should serve the people, not corporate and foreign interests. We must prioritize people-first policy that protects the working class, marginalized communities, and the environment. We must get corporate and foreign influence out of our government and eliminate government corruption.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

My big three are:

Affordability and Livability:

Wage and tax inequality, skyrocketing housing prices, inaccessible healthcare, unaffordable education, and a society that the working class is being priced out of, mean we need to fight to make life better for all Americans.

Artificial Intelligence:

From growing privacy issues and intellectual property theft, to the unsustainable draining of our resources like water and electricity to keep the data centers running.

Government Corruption:

Between the blatant coverup of the Epstein Files, open bribery and profiteering on the part of Trump and his family, foreign and corporate influence, and the other unbelievable violations we’ve experienced, things HAVE to change quickly.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Integrity, honesty, and loyalty to the American people and our constitution. Our elected officials should never prioritize the needs of donors and lobbyists over the needs of their constituents, nor should they enact legislation that goes against the best interests of the American people in favor of profit and power.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To represent their constituents and the American people as a whole. Not to bend policy and morals to benefit foreign and corporate lobbies or wealthy donors.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I want to leave a positive impact on the world, and make it a better place for everyone. We have every possible resource and don't need to struggle.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

9/11 - I was about 5 years old.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Aside from babysitting as a teen, I worked at a movie theater selling tickets when I was about 18, serving snacks, and cleaning up after screenings. I was there for a little under a year.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Job instability and chronic health issues have made consistent progress a struggle many times, as well as losing my mother to cancer in my junior year of college.

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

It has incredible power to shape the lives of every single American and the structure of our government. It also has the power to keep the executive branch in line, although it seems to have forgotten that lately.

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Recovering from the incredible damage done to the nation by the second Trump administration. Our foreign relations, equal rights, environmental protections, economy, and so much more have been damaged almost beyond repair. It will take a massive amount of work to build a better world and recover.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

I think we need term limits and age at every level of elected office, including the Supreme Court.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

While not a representative, I believe Zohran Mamdani is a great example of political leadership that truly prioritizes the people.

Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

Truly, every story is meaningful to me and I always appreciate when people are willing to share their story. I believe everyone is valuable and deserving of attention and consideration from their representation.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

It depends on the area of compromise. When it comes to human rights, workers' rights, equality, the environment, and other major issues, there is no room for compromise.

The Constitution says that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. What role would this power play in your priorities if elected?

I intend to introduce legislation to raise the income cap on social security taxes, and to eliminate the unfair tax policies that allow the wealthy to skirt paying taxes while leaving the working class to struggle.

How should the U.S. House use its investigative powers?

The House should use its investigative powers to effectively, aggressively, and quickly investigate government corruption, major crimes, potential treason, and find the issues at the core of our nation from local districts to the federal and international levels.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

Citizens' Impeachment

What is an accomplishment that you are proud of?

Putting myself through college despite my mom's death, and never giving up on myself.

What role should the United States government have in the development or use of artificial intelligence?

The US government should be acting aggressively to protect us and the environment from the impacts of artificial intelligence. While AI has important applications in fields like medicine and technology, we cannot allow AI to destroy the job market, steal intellectual property, and violate people's privacy.

What legislation would you enact related to election administration in the United States?

I want elections and voting to be more accessible for all Americans to eliminate disenfranchisement of voters, like requiring every election to provide enough polling locations for EVERY constituent to be able to vote without standing in line for hours upon hours, allowing mail in voting, and more.
