Where Our Data Comes From

True Vote is a powerful civic intelligence tool designed to help voters track their elected officials as well as learn about the new contenders they may not know about. Our team recognizes the challenge of knowing what to believe when slander and accusations are being thrown from all sides. That's why we refuse to allow opinion, bias or agenda to have any space in our data. Everyone listed on our platform is given the same amount of fair and honest coverage. All context given for all people is a result of their own words and actions, no one else's.

Using Our Work

True Vote's own work — the written analysis, the member summaries, the ideology descriptions, and the aggregations built on top of the public records — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0. Quote it, cite it, teach with it, report on it. Credit True Vote and link back. Commercial reuse needs permission first.

That licence covers our work only. The records underneath it — congressional roll call votes and Federal Election Commission filings — are United States government public domain. They belong to everyone, we make no claim over them, and nothing here restricts your use of them.

Our Commitment

We present facts, not opinions. Everything here is built from the public record — votes cast, filings made, words published. We never tell you who to vote for — we give you the information to decide for yourself.
