Background

William Webb was born in Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army from 2014 to 2020, followed by service in the U.S. Army Reserve from 2020 to 2022. His career experience includes working as an advocate, in the Army Chaplain Corps, a peer support specialist, in pharmacy technology, as an ASIST instructor, and as a missionary.[1]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Will is a fourth generation Oklahoman, a father, advocate, missionary, veteran, and civil servant. His campaign is a grassroots, self funded, zero donations commitment.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Will is a moderate who is committed to meeting in the middle and negotiating options that are reasonable.Will anticipates fighting for stronger support for seniors, retirees, veterans, and recipients of disability benefits.Will has historically advocated for Judicial reform in family courts and Social/Family and Children Services. Strengthening families and ensuring children have necessary services are two of the top five priorities.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Education, Mental Health, Judicial Reform.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My grandfather was a prime example of a man. He was the kind of person who didn’t have to speak for the room to know that he was the smartest one present.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Being direct in communicating with one’s constituents when pursuing objectives. Admitting what the goals of the office acquired are. Making oneself available to the people whom are represented by the office.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Generate and pass effective legislation. Communicate well with fellow legislators.

What legacy would you like to leave?

My goal is to improve the lives of children and increase their chances of success. I would also be glad to know that the elderly people I represent lived wonderful lives as they’ve earned.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

9/11; I was in Elementary school.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My Dad and I had a warehouse that was used for resale of items we bought from storage auctions. I also had a traveling notary service. I still notarize for free at the local libraries. .

What is your favorite book? Why?

I’m a fan of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. The imagination and philosophy is rich. He manages to entertain children and educate adults.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Tony Stark (Iron Man).

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

I see variety. Shorter terms should be providing frequent results.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

No; Experience in other careers or relationships may be beneficial and provide specific expertise when crafting legislation.

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Partisan “Tug-of-war”. Currently, I see little cooperation.

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

Absolutely.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

Term limits are a must. Objectives should be transparent and direct.

So many stories have been the driving force to fight for families, children, and the vulnerable.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Compromise is absolutely necessary.
