William Ferguson IV

Ferguson was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, in 1983.[2] He earned his bachelor's in political science and economics from Davidson College in 2005, his master's in teaching from The Johns Hopkins University School of Education in 2007, and his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2010.[2]

In his early career, he worked as a social studies teacher in Baltimore and was special assistant to the CEO of the Baltimore City Public Schools.[3] He also worked as the director of reform initiatives at Johns Hopkins University and worked for the nonprofit America Achieves.[2][3] In 2024, he became general counsel for a solar energy company called CI Renewables.[5]
