In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Will Mbah, and I'm running to be your next State Representative because I believe government should deliver results that improve people's everyday lives.
Sixteen years ago, I came to this country from Cameroon in search of opportunity. Like so many families in our district, I know what it means to struggle. I moved five times in six years because I couldn't afford stable housing. My wife and I are raising our two children in our public schools. We know what it means to worry about paying the rent, paying for childcare, paying for groceries, and wondering whether our children will be able to afford to live in the communities they love.
For nearly a decade, you've trusted me to serve as your At-Large City Councilor in Somerville. Together, we've delivered meaningful results.
I've helped create the Office of Housing Stability and the Somerville Community Land Trust. I've led efforts to protect workers from wage theft. I've championed climate action, safer streets, environmental justice, immigrant rights, and investments in affordable housing.
I'm proud to have earned my master’s in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School, where I focused on leadership and public policy. I bring together technical expertise, legislative experience, and lived experience.
This race isn't simply about who has the best ideas. It's about who is ready to turn those ideas into law on Beacon Hill. I am ready to deliver.
