Virginia McIntyre is a Monroe County Legislator representing parts of Gates and Greece and a candidate for the U.S. House in New York’s 25th Congressional District. She has served in the county legislature since 2024 and was designated by the Monroe County Republican Committee to run for Congress.

McIntyre is running to bring practical, results-driven leadership to Washington, with a focus on representing working families, restoring trust in government, and addressing the issues that directly impact Western New York communities. Her campaign emphasizes accountability, responsiveness to constituents across party lines, and delivering measurable results rather than partisan politics.

She believes elected officials should listen to their communities, prioritize service over politics, and work to unify rather than divide. Her approach is rooted in local experience, hands-on governance, and a commitment to improving quality of life for residents across the district.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Western New York deserves practical leadership that delivers real results. My campaign is focused on making communities safer, strengthening local schools, and ensuring families have access to the opportunities they need to succeed. I will bring a results-oriented approach to Congress that prioritizes solving problems—not political games.Government must be accountable to the people it serves. I am running to restore trust by focusing on transparency, fiscal responsibility, and putting taxpayers first. That means fighting for tax relief for working families and seniors, and ensuring that government decisions reflect the needs of everyday residents—not special interests. This campaign is about putting people over politics. I have worked across party lines to listen to constituents and act on their concerns, and I will bring that same approach to Washington. Leadership should be earned through service, and I am committed to delivering meaningful results for the people of the 25th District.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about public policies that directly improve the lives of families in Western New York. This includes public safety, education, and economic policies that support job growth and financial stability. I strongly support fiscal accountability, tax relief, and responsible government spending to ensure long-term sustainability.

I am also committed to restoring trust in government by promoting transparency and responsiveness, and to ensuring that policies reflect the real concerns of constituents rather than partisan agendas. My focus is on practical, community-driven solutions that strengthen neighborhoods and create opportunity for all residents.
