Background

Victor Scoggin served in the U.S. Navy from 1977 to 1981. Scoggin earned a high school diploma from Mt. Juliet High School. His career experience includes working as a firefighter.[1]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I'm Victor Scoggin born and raised in Tennessee. I have two grown adults children and three grand children. I served in the US Navy from 1977-81. I'm active duty in the Coast Guard Aux. Retired Volunteer Firefighter 43 years. Retired Ford/UAW 32 years. Active Tennessee Armed Guard and active 100 ton Master Western Rivers Captain. I'm a registered Republican but running for Tennessee Governor as an Independent. I'm 100% for the law abiding taxpayers.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

No county or state property tax if you are retired and your land is paid for.We should receive all Social Security that we paid into plus interest. The SS money that we pay into should be earmarked with our name and cashed out at retirement. Loyal to country, state and taxpayers

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Fighting for justice

Governors have many responsibilities, which vary from state to state. Which of those do you personally consider the most important in your state?

That taxpayer money isn't wasted, like it is now. Crime and corruption is stopped. Natural resources not polluted.

In most states, governors have the power to make line-item vetoes. If that is true in your state, what would be your philosophy for how and when to use this power?

Every time it doesn't follow the US or State Constitution and doesn't benefit the taxpayers. No Socialism.

Under what circumstances should the governor of your state be able to use emergency powers?

Violent protest.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

Not a damn one. They are scared of a Patriot.

What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?

That President Donald J. Trump got elected.
