In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Retired US Military Officer, Naval Air. Unabashed Patriot, and NOT an insider! More of a Conservative Libertarian than a lock-step party representative. Especially interested in the plight of many of the life-long working, senior citizens having to choose between heat/air conditioning and food, especially during the difficult Vermont winters. The tax burdens on the typical Vermonter are suffocating to say the least. Seniors should not be paying exorbitant taxes for a marginally effective and overstaffed educational system. If seniors choose to work, later in life, they should not have child care taxes deducted from their paychecks. Our Veterans and military retirees continue to have their well-deserved pay reduced to pay for pie in the sky programs directed at undeserving and small groups. Vermont has turned into a magnet for folks on the dole, as opposed to those that provide a positive influence on our economy. I believe that state government is bloated, and that positive efforts need to be made to make it more responsive to the people. I also believe that the employee unions on government need to be eliminated, as I feel that they are the tail wagging the dog. The recent COVID outbreak provides an example of union dictums, and their unelected leadership, affecting a generation of school children. To me, that bordered on criminal. Vermont needs to stop being the pariah among states. My roots are here, and I have seen the deterioration of what Vermont should be.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Prioritize nuclear energy, and get rid of the corroding solar panels and wind turbines, that do not provide local use. Personal/home use should be encouraged. No infringement on personal firearms. I have yet to hear of a weapon jumping up and shooting someone on its own.Stop legislative bills that are outside of the realm of government responsibility. Example is: Don't tell me how to compost!
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Taxes. Sanctuary and funding for people illegally in the state. Absolute requirement for voter identification.
