In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor's degree in history in 1986. Then graduated from University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1989. I have been a state and federal public defender for over 30 years where I represented death row inmates in the post-conviction and federal appeals. I retired two years ago to take care of my late husband. I am still an active attorney doing some pro bono cases for Legal Aid of Oklahoma. I am also a contract attorney for Pregnancy Justice, a non-profit law firm who provide representation for women facing criminal charges associated with failed pregnancies.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I planned to bring back civility, community, and neighborliness to the Oklahoma legislature. Some of the bills that have been introduced this year have been a waste of resources, time, and are simply mean spirited. My children received a quality education in the Putnam City Schools here in Oklahoma City. Sadly the legislature has taken away most of the policies that made that public education possible such as class sizes, teacher pay and benifits.I want to uplift and support our vulnerable neighbors, including older Oklahomans, widows, the LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Protecting our constitutional rights, especially suffrage and the democratic process.
