Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Ensure strong oversight of taxpayer dollars at every level of government by identifying and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. Californians deserve clear transparency about how their money is spent, always prioritizing programs that deliver measurable results and real value to our communities.Support parents as essential partners in their children’s education and well-being. Families should have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their kids, while maintaining appropriate safeguards to ensure every child is safe and supported.Empower local communities to lead on the issues that impact them most. Cities and counties are often best positioned to address challenges like housing, homelessness, public safety, education, and economic growth, while the state plays a supportive role in providing resources and coordination where needed.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Elections are the foundation for representative government. Without verifiable election results, the basic fabric of trust from voters erodes. There should never be any questions, doubts, or confusion on whether voters are eligible, who cast a ballot, the results, or the proof that the administration of the election process adhered to the law and was 100% verifiable.
We currently have an election administration centrally controlled by the State of California with no ability for Counties to administer what is best for their constituents. Whether you live in a County with 1,100 people or one with 10 million, Counties have no discretion to best serve their communities and their voter’s concerns.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
My father because as many times as I've messed up, he still loves me and inspires me to do better. Work hard but don't forget to enjoy life.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
That the oath of office means something and that their role is to serve the public that elected them.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To best represent their constituents by keeping the size and scope of government to a minimum impact leaving them to live their best lives.
What legacy would you like to leave?
One of integrity and honesty.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
Paperboy and did it for 2 years on my bicycle whether it was raining or not.
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Waking up to how broken our government is at every level and seeing how money is being spent with our dollar being worth less and less each year.
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?
The governor should only support legislation that has either a guaranteed return on investment, or checks and balances with audits built in when it is not. The legislature is closest to the constituents and after debate and compromise is reached in the legislature, the governor should support it.
The governor should also use veto power when the law has any questionable outcomes and send it back to the legislature for clarity or amendments.
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
Californians are losing confidence in our elections. Without elections that are administered to be transparent and easy to understand, more voters will become disenfranchised.
In addition, policies that have prioritized spending in the billions of dollars that are unaccountable and return little to no value to Californians like the central valley high speed rail project.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
It's desirable and necessary when it comes to issues that affect every citizen.
