A Real Estate Broker in southern Indiana who has been privileged to work with individuals from many walks of life, and understands how property taxes have become a burden for Hoosiers.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Abolishing Property Taxes, and working with State Legislators to reform tax system for residential and family farms.I support Rainwater for Governor's plan to amend the State's constitution to abolish Asset Forfeiture. No Hoosier should have the home they own taken away because they couldn't pay the property taxes.School Choice for parents. Create a vibrate educational landscape that benefits all Hoosier families so children can grow up and thrive in our society.

Reducing strict laws that stifle individual freedoms and liberties. Reducing the budget and size of government.

The largest historical even that I can remember as an adult was the attack on our Country on 9/11/2001. I was working as a Health Aid in the Brown County High School Nurse's office. I will never forget.

Katniss, Hunger Games

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

Transparency and accountability are lacking in our State as well as at the federal level. We can do better.

Campaign website

Hudson’s campaign website stated the following:

Tonya Hudson for Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor

I am honored to be the 2024 Libertarian candidate for Lieutenant Governor. I’m looking forward to working with Donald Rainwater for Governor to improve the lives of our fellow Hoosiers.

As a Real Estate Broker, I understand the need for Hoosiers to have access to affordable housing. We need to remove the burdensome personal Property Tax, and Indiana’s income tax. As Lieutenant Governor and President of the State Senate, I will assist the Libertarian Governor and work with our legislators to reform our tax code. For more detailed information, go to https://www.RainwaterforIndiana.com/issues

The Department of Education is too big at both the federal and state level. Major reforms are needed in Indiana, Hoosier parents need better school choice options. Freedom to choose what is best for you and your family is essential. As a former candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, IN District 9 (Tonya for Congress), I expressed the need to abolish the Department of Education at the federal level and return the wasted tax dollars back to the people in every state.

As a former congressional candidate, I also supported the MORE Act which would decriminalize both medical cannabis and recreational marijuana at the federal level. Indiana trails the majority of the states in our Union that recognize the scientific benefits of cannabis for medical treatment as well as the revenue other states receive from sales tax. As Lt. Governor, and President of the Senate, I will work with our legislators to make these products legally available for sale in Indiana. Tonya Hudson

Donald Rainwater received the 2024 Libertarian nomination for Governor. I know that Donald is the leader Hoosiers need and I support his candidacy.

Indiana Hoosiers deserve better than the restrictive administrations of the past.[2]

ISSUES

(Elaboration by Tonya)

The 2020 Election is over, we can see the 117th Congress consists of the same old, same old politicians in both the U.S. House & Senate. It’s the same old red & blue Duopoly stripes which does NOT represent the Star-Spangled-Banner. Very sad.

We must soldier on and do what we can to correct the wrongs in Washington D.C.

What is my position on the Wars in the Middle East?

Let me start by saying that we should never forget our history. When we were attacked on 9/11/2001, I understood the need to go after OBL & his co-conspirators and supported the AUMF (joint resolution). When President Bush took a U-turn and went into Iraq when Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11, I questioned that action at the time. Going in there was a big mistake. Our armed forces should not be intruding in the Middle East. Return our troops home. Regarding military assistance to Allies, only exceptions should be authorized by congress. When Hitler ordered genocide, when the German War Machine pulverized Europe, when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor, we had to act. WWII was necessary at many levels and approved by the U.S. Congress (We, the People). At this time in our history, we cannot stop all civil wars in the Middle East or other disputes around the world. The U.S. should not keep trying to fix the troubles around the planet. Get out of there and mind our own business. We are a great Country. Return our troops home!

What do the voters want from me as their Representative?

When I talk with the people and listen to what they care about, I discover they all have a common thread- loss of freedoms and too much taxation. We are a generous Nation, but too many Rules & Regulations even curtail a person’s ability to help others. If we look at the Justice Department, there are at least 3,000 criminal offenses on the books. There are over 20,000 federal laws & amendments. Most of our congressional members seem confused. That’s understandable under the weight of the bloated bureaucracy. We need to reverse much of this nonsense. Rolling back the restrictive rules is what the voters want. The federal government should not make laws preventing people from making decisions for themselves when he/she is not hurting others. I am a proud American. I respect the U.S. Constitution including Article 4 and the 10th Amendment regarding States’ rights. The People want to keep their right to speak freely, worship, and peacefully assemble without interference. No Trespassing. The good citizens of this land have the right to bear Arms. Period.

What will be my Priorities when I am sworn in?

We, the people, seek to ‘Secure the Blessings of Liberty’ and demand a Balanced Budget. Prior to the Coronavirus, the spending led by both the House & Senate was adding $3-$5 Billion of debt per day! The U.S. has over $30 Trillion in debt. That’s unsustainable. It’s simple math. Yes, some tax is necessary for our National Defense, for society to function and preserve the free market . However, if the R & D’s in Congress keep spending more money than is brought in, our country will be headed toward bankruptcy. To say the least, the value of the U.S. dollar will fall. Both the Democrats and Republicans are responsible for this outrageous debt that has been climbing over the past 25 years. Voting Libertarian will put a halt to the madness and reverse the trend. It’s simple math. If elected, I would also encourage my Fellow Legislators to move toward a FAIR Tax and eliminate the IRS.

Climate Change – I believe we, as a People, are the stewards of our planet and should do what we can to keep the earth clean and safe. We should do everything we can to have clean air, water and resources to sustain a good quality of life. We should be respectful of wildlife and nature preserves. If elected, as a member of Congress, I will endorse pro-climate bills to influence positive change around our planet.[2]
