Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m Tony Sabio—a husband, father, veteran, and national security professional who has spent my life serving our country in the U.S. military, the Secret Service, and the CIA. My career has taken me into high-risk environments where I learned that leadership is about responsibility, preparation, and decisive action when it matters. Those experiences shaped my commitment to protecting this country and serving others.
After my service, I transitioned into the corporate world, where I led teams and managed complex operations in high-pressure environments. Across every role, my focus has remained the same: solve problems, lead effectively, and deliver results.
As a Reagan-style conservative who believes there is more that unites us than divides us, my goal is to restore unity, reduce political division, and bring common sense back to Congress by putting people before politics.
On day one, I will introduce the Nuclear-Ready Grid Zone Act, Nuclear Workforce Act, Small Business Tax Relief & Growth Act, Workforce Apprenticeship Act, and Small Business Continuity Protection Act. These initiatives focus on strengthening national security, protecting critical infrastructure, expanding workforce development, and supporting small businesses. I’m running for Congress because America is at a turning point. We need leadership grounded in service, unity, and accountability—focused on results, not rhetoric.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
1. Ready to Lead and Act on Day One.
I will be prepared to go to work immediately in Congress by introducing five key pieces of legislation focused on strengthening national security, supporting small businesses, expanding workforce development, and protecting critical infrastructure. My commitment is to move from ideas to action from the very beginning.2. A Representative Who Listens and Delivers.
I believe effective representation starts with listening. I will prioritize staying closely connected to the people of my district, understanding their concerns, and working diligently to address the real issues affecting their everyday lives—cost of living, job opportunities, safety, and economic stability.3. A Voice of Reason to Help Unite a Divided Nation.
I am committed to being a steady, solutions-focused voice in Congress. At a time of deep political division, I believe there is far more that unites us than divides us. My goal is to help restore civility, encourage cooperation, and focus on common-sense solutions that put people ahead of politics.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I’m passionate about national security and protecting the homeland, shaped by my service in the U.S. military, the Secret Service, and the CIA. This includes strengthening critical infrastructure like the energy grid and ensuring America is prepared for emerging threats.
I also focus on supporting small businesses by reducing burdens, improving tax fairness, and helping entrepreneurs grow and remain resilient during economic challenges.
Another priority is workforce development through expanded apprenticeships and skills training for high-demand careers.
Across all areas, I am committed to restoring accountability in government, reducing division, and bringing common sense solutions that put people before politics.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Protecting parents' rights is a priority. Schools should concentrate on education and leave teaching family values to the parents. The safety of our children is an issue that crosses all political lines. Tony will use his decades of professional experience to ensure FCPS develops a security program that will be considered the "gold standard" in the industry.Mental health is an epidemic that is affecting our children nationwide. As a Foster Parent that adopted an "At-Risk" teen from the Fairfax system, he learned through the program how to work and connect with teens. He will work with the county to expand that successful program for teachers and parents. He will expand the mentorship programs into schools connecting our children with successful adults who will help them grow.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
The rights of parents and students is under assault with activist groups and politicians pushing their own agenda over others. We need "common sense" policies that will ensure the rights of parents are protected and shift the power of the school board and administration back to the people.
One right does not outweigh another, and we should not push policies that infringe on individual rights while giving to precedence another.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
Along my journey in life, I had mentors that made me who I am today. I represent each part of them, and my success is their success.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Integrity and selfless servitude
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I believe in service to the people. That is what I dedicated my life to in the military and federal government and what I will bring to the office.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
Each elected official represents the people and not one segment. As an elected official I work for the people.
What legacy would you like to leave?
I want to be defined by what I gave to others vices personal achievements.
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
At the age of 16, a single night forever altered the course of my life. Growing up in the impoverished neighborhoods of San Diego, California, life was a struggle, but that particular night would prove to be a defining moment I would never forget.
It was past midnight, and I found myself walking alone on the dimly lit streets. As I approached an intersection, a vehicle pulled up beside me. The backseat window rolled down and shotgun was pointed directly at me. In that tense moment, everything from my past flashed before my eyes, reminding me of the hardships I had faced and the aspirations I held for a better life.
The person behind the weapon demanded to know what I claimed, a question laden with the implications of gang affiliation that held great weight in my neighborhood. As fear coursed through my veins, I felt an overwhelming sense of humility. I explained that it was my birthday and that I harbored no ill intentions toward anyone. All I wanted was to return home safely.
In an act that I can only attribute to the grace of God, the occupants of the vehicle decided to move on. The shotgun was lowered, and the car sped away. In that moment, a wave of gratitude and relief washed over me. I had narrowly escaped a potentially life-threatening situation, and it was crystal clear that this incident was a turning point. It marked the instant when I recognized the stark reality of the environment I was living in – an environment characterized by violence, danger, and the constant threat to one's well-being.
From that point forward, I underwent a profound transformation. The fear and vulnerability I experienced that night fueled a fire within me. It became abundantly clear that the path I had been on was not one I wanted to continue down. I realized that I had dreams and aspirations that were far bigger than the circumstances I had grown up in.

The primary job of the School Board member is to represent all the people in his/her district. To provide accountability of the school system and ensure policies and procedures are in-line with the will of the people.
Who are your constituents?
Fairfax County - Providence District
How would you support the diverse needs of your district’s students, faculty, staff, and community?
Meeting the needs will come from actively engaging with all of the community and finding was to collaborate with people of opposing opinions.
How will you build relationships with members of the broader community? Which groups, organizations, stakeholders will you specifically target?
Everyone regardless of if they voted for me or not will have a voice. I will listen to their concerns and work on building common sense initiatives that build bridges rather than destroying them.
What constitutes good teaching? How will you measure this? How will you support advanced teaching approaches?
A good teacher is measured on the success of their students preparing them for success outside of high school. It is a holistic approach that involves the parents.
In what areas would you like to expand curriculum? For example, do you see a need for advanced technical training or apprenticeships? What sort of innovative programming would you advance if given the opportunity?
FCPS needs to expand Vocational and Trade curriculum for students that do not want to attend college after High School.
What strategies or plans would you advance to ensure the schools are properly funded?

From that, we will develop a priority list of areas of concern and shift funding into those areas if needed. This process will be transparent to the public and will involve community engagement.
What principles drive your policies for safety in schools?
I learned in my time in the military and federal government that each life is precious. We need to develop common sense security solutions with that in mind.

As a Foster Parent that adopted an "At-Risk" teen from the Fairfax system, I learned through the program how to work and connect with teens.
I will work with the county to expand that successful program for teachers and parents. I will expand the mentorship programs into schools connecting our children with successful adults who will help them grow.
What existing district policies would you like to change, or what new policies would you like to implement?
I would enforce Parents' Rights
Describe your ideal learning environment for students.
We need to create a learning environment that concentrates on developing a career path for each individual student. That could be in the form of traditional colleges or developing vocational pathways that gears students to success beyond high school.
What will you do to build a relationship with parents in the district?
I will hold more open town forums where I can listen to the concerns of parents outside of any school board meetings. From that I will work with parents on solving their issues through trust and collaboration.
What are your preferred strategies for faculty, staff, and administration recruitment?
I want to create an atmosphere that empowers the front-line teachers to teach the curriculum they dedicated their lives to. That will happen by removing classroom requirements that take away from that mission. As a school board member, I will raise the pay for teachers to a competitive market level and add an addition 5 percent to that number, I will work with the Board of Supervisors to create a living assistance program for teachers so they would not have to commute from outside the district to work, and I will ensure that teachers will not have to pay out of their own pockets for classroom essential materials that is needed to benefit the children they are instructing.
