In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a moderate and independent candidate for NY's 24th Congressional District. Born and raised in New York, I have lived almost all of my life in the state. The son of a mother raised in the midst of the Great Depression and a WWII veteran father, I, like the vast majority of Americans, favor compromise and common ground, a far less partisan government, and far more economically just society.

A first generation graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, I became a mathematician and have worked as a teacher, research scientist, mathematics program officer, inventor, and science policy aide in the U.S. House of Representatives. Married for 36 years and blessed with four children, their partners and three grandchildren, my spouse Jean and I are now retired and depend largely on social security to live.

Being a scientist by training and a humanist at heart, I strive to consider all sides of an issue and to listen carefully to all arguments and opinions. However, our political system has become broken and fiercely tribal. This dysfunction has allowed small, wealthy and increasingly politically powerful groups to succeed at the expense of the vast majority of everyday Americans. For the sake of all, Unite for America and turn this around.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Make Quality Health Care Affordable and Accessible to AllProtect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for Decades into the FutureEnact Fair, Economically Effective, and Fiscally Sound Federal Tax Policies and Spending Priorities that Align with the Needs of Average Americans

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Enact Economically Sound, Secure, and Humane Immigration Policies.

In short protect our borders, deport real criminals, support local communities and law enforcement, respect the Constitution and devise new laws and policies to fully integrate hard working, law abiding, and contributing immigrants fully into the American dream, just as was done for so many of our forebearers.
