Todd Shelton is a Democratic candidate for Indiana State Senate District 25. Todd Shelton is a senior lecturer at Indiana University, Indianapolis. He previously worked as a member of United Auto Workers (UAW) Locals 662 and 2209 and served as a committeeman and on the bargaining committee. Shelton is a disabled U.S. military veteran. He resides in Indiana and is a father.

Shelton believes Indiana families deserve economic stability. His campaign focuses on addressing rising costs for groceries, housing, utilities, and everyday essentials so working families, retirees, and veterans can get ahead instead of falling behind.Shelton supports strong public schools and career training programs to ensure every child has access to quality education. He believes education is a public responsibility and critical to preparing the next generation for good-paying jobs.Shelton supports policies that increase access to affordable healthcare and childcare. He believes families should not have to choose between medical care, work, and caring for their children.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Shelton is particularly passionate about public education, workers’ rights, and healthcare policy. As a university lecturer, former union member, and disabled veteran, he is interested in policies that strengthen schools, protect working families, and expand access to affordable healthcare.

Todd Shelton is a working-class Hoosier who has spent years on the factory floor and served as a UAW Union official. A U.S. Army Veteran, Todd served his country honorably and is now a disabled veteran. He is an entrepreneur and small business owner, operating since 2018. Currently, Todd is a Senior Lecturer at Indiana University Indianapolis, a position he has held for over a decade. He is involved in his community through technology education initiatives and youth sports.
