Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Todd Achilles. I am a 58 year old Army veteran, former state legislator, public policy professor, and business executive. I grew up on a family farm, served as a U.S. Army tank commander and armor officer, spent over 20 years in senior leadership roles at T-Mobile, Hewlett-Packard, and several technology startups, and served in the Idaho House of Representatives before resigning in July 2025 to launch my U.S. Senate campaign. I live in Boise with my family.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Stopping the corruption in Congress is my first main point I want voters to remember about my candidacy. Washington is broken because politicians answer to parties and donors instead of voters. I support term limits, getting money out of elections and overturning Citizens United, banning congressional stock trading, ending the revolving door between Congress and lobbying, and stopping gerrymandering. Public service should be about serving the people—not building wealth, power, or political careers.Strengthening the middle class. My priorities include shrinking the national debt, breaking up monopolies in technology, agriculture and other sectors, eliminating corporate and high income tax loopholes, making healthcare more affordable by unwinding vertically integrated healthcare companies, raising wages by rolling back right-to-work laws and giving unions a chance to compete, restricting corporate ownership of single family housing, passing data privacy laws so that our online data can’t be weaponized against us, modernizing antitrust laws for the digital economy, and ending the practice of shareholders.Protecting Idaho’s public lands which account for 62% of the state’s land. Public lands are sacred in Idaho and what makes Idaho unique. Once we commit to protecting these wide-open spaces, we can strengthen the communities that depend on them—bringing visitors into small towns, supporting local businesses, and sustaining good-paying jobs. My priorities include preserving access to public lands, investing in conservation and responsible land management, supporting rural economies tied to outdoor recreation, and ensuring that future generations can experience the same sense of opportunity, connection, and independence that defines Idaho today.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Public lands are sacred in Idaho. I grew up on public lands and raised my daughters on public lands. Not one acre of public land will be sold under my watch. I will fight to preserve our open spaces, clean air, and water for future generations.
