Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am the daughter of two Greek immigrants and mother of four children. I have lived in Greenwich, CT for almost 20 years and love this community. I practiced corporate law and worked in investment banking for over 20 years. I then ran two non-profit organzations, including a bipartisan legislative non-profit with a 50-year legacy of advocating for Connecticut's women and girls. I am running because I believe Connecticut's biggest problem is its government, especially the financial burdens it places on individuals and businesses. I am also running because I am tired of extreme politics and policies that lack common sense. I believe that we can do better.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Lower taxes and increase affordability through fiscal responsibility in governmentPreserve local control of zoningSupport public safety
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
* Affordability for CT's citizens: lower taxes, limit government overspending, address energy bills
Preserving local control of zoning
Attracting businesses to CT
Supporting reasonable policing
Keeping abortion legal in CT
Investing in educational excellence
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
After college, I worked as an analyst in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. for two years.
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
The greatest long-term challenge facing Connecticut is its economy and budget. In 2017, the state enacted fiscal guardrails which began to get government overspending under control and reduce debt, but the pressure to overspend continues. I support staying the course on fiscal discpline and:
1. Adhering to CT's fiscal guardrails
2. Reducing income tax rates
2. Reducing excessive government spending
3. Overhauling the regulatory burden on businesses
