Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a Tom McMasters Libertarian. I am also a Tom McMasters Democrat and a Tom McMasters Republican. What this means is that I believe I can help define the parties, not the other way around.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
The United States has been the greatest country in the world since before I was born precisely because the Democratic Party and the Republican party have always been essentially the same party arguing over nuances.
In our recent history professional fund raisers and others that make their living off of politics discovered they could get more money if they could make Republicans hate Democrats and Democrats hate Republicans.
Of course, those fund raisers try and protect their incomes spreading the false narrative that if you vote for anyone but Republicans or Democrats you are wasting your vote. This is a protectionist argument. Voting Libertarian will push politicians back to working with each other and strengthen the USI am anti-war while also advocating for a strong military. In fact, I entered military service in 1983, retired from active duty in 2009 and still work to strengthen our military capabilities.
However, during the war I was flying a mission into Sarajevo and on approach I could see the beautiful architecture of the houses in the distance. Then as we flew over, I saw that none of them had roofs.
If we have to go to war, we need to be ready with the most modern weapons acquired in the most efficient and economical manner. But I've not been convinced that we've been involved in any wars where we couldn't have achieved better results without going to war.I am a Tom McMasters L, D, R. Meaning I'm going to be on the side of policies that provide the best opportunity to keep the American standard of living the best in the world. It is impossible to outline if this is liberal or conservative within the 750 characters allowed here. Generally, I believe this is accomplished best with lower taxes but in contrast, I would be open to 100% taxes if it meant that everyone got to golf every day or play tennis and still have a nice house and food on the table. No taxes - doesn't make sense. 100% taxes don't make sense. As I campaign look for the nuances that show that I can recognize how close to one or the other makes sense for any specific issue.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Military spending and readiness. Efficiency and value for our tax dollars.
