In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I was born and raised in Missouri. Graduating from Clopton High School, before attending Missouri University of Science & Technology earning my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering. I did not pursue the profession after graduation, and instead looked for something that I loved. I worked several jobs in the meantime, tax preparation, Walmart attendant, pursued my writing, dabbled into game design, gas station attendant, janitor, before finally finding something I loved in education.
I returned to Clopton where I spent a year teaching the In-School Suspension, Credit Recovery, and Online Courses. The following year I worked as a para in the Special Education department while getting certified to teach Math. When I was unable to get a full time teaching position, it left me open to run for office bringing a new found appreciation for everyone working in education and the problems faced within.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I will fight for education. My short time in the field gave me a genuine appreciation for everyone there, while giving myself a first hand experience with the problems. I will do everything in my power to increase education budgets and improve the system as a whole so we can provide the best experience for the students.Healthcare! My father suffered from several heart attacks and a stroke. He spent the last 20 years of his life visting hospitals trying to give us as much time together. With upcoming cuts to medicare threatening rural hospitals, I hate to think what could've been if we didn't have rural hospitals.Equal Rights for All. As a queer person, I strive for equal rights for the queer community. But equal rights for all doesn't just end with my community, wanting equality for women and minorities as well.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I want to improve our education system, help save our rural hospitals, enshrine equality, oppose AI and data centers.
