In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a practicing medical doctor who has dedicated my career to healing patients and strengthening communities. As a elected Troy City Council member, small business owner, mom to three daughters, and physician, I bring medical expertise, practical problem-solving skills, and proven leadership to public service. As a medical professional, I understand healthcare challenges from the inside. I will fight to expand access to quality healthcare, address disparities in treatment, and ensure that medical decisions remain between patients and their doctors. I believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Following advanced training at the renowned Mayo Clinic, I have spent more than fifteen years treating patients, helping them recover from injuries and illnesses that affect movement and daily life. I have deep Michigan roots, earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and my medical degree from Michigan State University. I currently teach future physicians at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. In 2019, I was elected to the Troy City Council, where I also served as Mayor Pro Tem. I approach governing the same way I approach medicine: listening carefully, relying on facts and evidence, and working toward solutions that improve people's lives. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service. As a physician, I took an oath to help people and do no harm.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Fight for Affordability for Michigan Families

Families across our communities are working hard but continue to feel the pressure of rising costs in groceries, gas, prescriptions, childcare, and housing. I will work to lower everyday expenses by expanding access to property tax relief through the Homestead Property Tax Credit, supporting family tax credits, and advancing solutions that help families keep more of what they earn. By focusing on practical, common-sense policies, we can ease financial burdens, support small businesses, and help families build a stable and secure future in Michigan.Protect Access to Quality Health Care

As a physician, I understand how important it is that every resident—regardless of where they live or their economic position—has access to reliable, high-quality medical care. I will fight to strengthen support for rural hospitals and community health systems so families and seniors across Michigan can receive the care they need close to home. In addition, quality care should not depend on the size of your bank account. I will fight to make child care and long-term care for seniors and individuals with disabilities more affordable so Michigan families are never forced to make impossible choices.Invest in Strong Schools and Modern Infrastructure

As a mother with children in Michigan’s public school system, I understand firsthand how important it is for every student to have access to a safe, high-quality learning environment. Every student deserves access to a quality education and the resources they need to thrive. I will work to strengthen literacy outcomes, invest in school facilities and infrastructure, and ensure classrooms across Michigan have the resources necessary to prepare students for the future. Supporting our teachers through resources and pay is critical to retaining and attracting the talented educators our students deserve.
