Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am an Alabama mom, patriot, award-winning author, and investigative journalist. I grew up in rural Alabama, and I am happily married to my hero firefighter husband. I come from a long line of military veterans and am a voice for Families and Freedom, with a proven track record of serving and fighting for families and parental rights.
After years of serving families as a labor doula and childbirth educator, I became an investigative journalist and author, researching and delving into stories of innocent families whose children or elderly parents were removed from them by state agencies for medical kinds of disagreements, known as "medical kidnapping." My work has led to the restoration of innocent families across America as well as legislation in several states impacting parental rights and accountability in the Child Protective System.
Truth, integrity, and the Constitution are core values to me. I believe that God established this nation as a beacon of Liberty and Justice, and He is not finished with us yet.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Families First - Families are under attack on virtually every level. I have exposed hundreds of stories of “medical kidnapping” of family members by the very governmental agencies purported to protect them. Taxpayer money is literally being used to traffic children and seize children, disabled, and elderly Americans from innocent, loving families.
Our children face unrelenting evil from ideologies that threaten their lives and their innocence. Instead of being allowed to be children, they are targeted by groups who want to use them for sexual and ideological agendas far beyond their ability to comprehend as children.
As a Congresswoman, no one will fight harder to protect families and children than Terri LaPoint.Government Accountability - Our government spends far too much money on stupid stuff. Fraud is rampant. This money is taxpayer money. Government and its spending must be accountable to the people. Federal funding often provides a perverse financial incentive for states to do the wrong thing, and this needs to end. Every dime of taxpayer money spent by the federal government needs to align with the Constitution and common sense. Often it does neither. Fraud and corruption on every level of government must be investigated, exposed, and stopped.
As a result of my investigative work as a citizen, a number of corrupt governmental workers have been exposed and removed. As a Congresswoman, I will work tirelessly to ensure accountability in gov't.Medical Freedom - A cornerstone of Liberty is the ability to make medical decisions for ourselves and our children. Informed choice is not a box to be checked on a form; it is the right of humans and the responsibility of medical personnel. Americans must have the right to refuse or choose medical treatments and vaccines. This includes the right to choose alternative treatments. No one should ever lose their job or career because of refusal of a shot. Parents must have the right to make medical decisions for their children, including the right to a second medical opinion without the fear of Child Protective Services seizing their child.
Fauci and those like him must be investigated and held accountable.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Families, border security, government accountability, foster care, education, health, and veterans.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
The late Senator Linda Collins-Smith of Arkansas. I investigated deeply into her life for a book I wrote - Voices That Will Not Be Silenced. She was a woman of unusual courage and conviction. She fought hard for border security and judicial accountability. She was not afraid to call out corruption when her investigations revealed it. She worked to restore families unjustly torn apart by Child Protective Services, speaking out against failures of the system, and working for solutions. Her life was cut short before she could accomplish all she wanted to, but she had a pure heart motivated by an intense desire to serve her people and do what is right. Her life and dedication to the cause of Liberty has inspired me to make a difference for the people of my own state of Alabama.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Integrity, commitment to the Constitution and her principles, love of the USA, dedication to the concepts of Liberty and Justice for all Americans. Elected officials must serve the needs of the American people first over the needs of other nations.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
A Congressman or woman REPRESENTS the people of the district. They must be available to hear the voices of their constituents, and work for common sense solutions that are Constitutional and rooted in the core values of Life, Liberty, and Justice. This person must be an effective communicator who is able to work with others, with the ability to lead in standing firm when appropriate.
What legacy would you like to leave?
I want to be a part of bringing realignment and restoration of America to her Constitutional values and purpose, restoring families and bringing an end to child trafficking and the legal seizure of children from innocent families.
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Rejection, abandonment, and abuse were all-too-familiar concepts in my early life. Thankfully my grandparents stepped in and raised my brothers and me. There was a lot of brokenness to overcome, but by the grace of God, I was able to heal and allow those things meant to destroy me to be used to create strength, compassion, and fire in me to help others.
What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?
The House of Representatives was designed to be responsive to the people represented. Congressmen and women are the voice of the people of their district in Washington, DC. Funding bills are Constitutionally required to be initiated in the House as opposed to the Senate. Many of the issues facing our states are directly related to federal funding, which either equips states to do the right thing or provides a perverse financial incentive to states to do the wrong thing. It is imperative that we have Representatives who stand for Constitutional values and have the integrity to stand for what is right.
What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?
There is much house-cleaning to do within the United States. Fraud, corruption, and criminal activity within government agencies has grown unchecked for decades. For too long, poor policies have kicked the can down the road. President Trump is certainly making a dent in cleaning things up, but there is much to be done. We must have leaders with integrity who are willing to lead and restore America to her Constitutional principles. Illegal immigration has created untold damage to our economy. We have spent billions on things that have put the American people last. Families have suffered greatly. We must focus on policies that put American citizens and American families first.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
There must be the ability to work together and hear the other side to find solutions that work, while standing firm on Constitutional values. There are times to compromise and times to draw the line in the sand and stand firm. It takes wisdom to know which is which.
What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
Alabama Republican Assembly, Family Forward Project, Kevin Sorbo, Dean Odle, Pastor Jason Hooper, Epstein Island Survivor Jennifer Guskin, MK Ultra Survivor and Whistleblower Cathy O'Brien
What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?
We went to the moon. I was 3. Granddad was an Air Force photographer at Cape Kennedy (now Cape Canaveral), and his job at the time was to photograph the missiles and rockets. I remember the grown-ups being unusually excited as we watched the rocket go up into the clouds at my grandparents' house. Granddad was on base, and Mamaw hosted many of our neighbors at the house. When we could no longer see the rocket, we raced inside to continue to watch it on TV. I couldn't understand why the adults were so excited, because we watched launches all the time. It was years later when I did the math. We went to the moon. That's why the grown-ups were so excited. I watched the launch with my own eyes. What an incredible thing to witness!
