In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma. My grandparents were farmers in SW Oklahoma and my Dad was in the oil field. I graduated from Hennessey as an All State Athlete in basketball and track. I received a degree in Journalism from Oklahoma State where I played basketball one year and ran track two years. I was a two-time Big 8 Champion and the first female All American at OSU. I have owned or been partners in over 12 businesses in Oklahoma and Florida. For almost 4 years I was a reporter for the Enid News before resigning to run for congress. I have two daughters and two grandkids and live in Enid. I built my own barn house because of my interest in affordable housing. In my job as a reporter, I met politicians, most of them who are currently in office or running and felt like I could make a contribution to our state. I have written stories on education, healthcare, abuse and contamination of our farmland. I feel like I have learned what is important in our district from the stories I have written and the people I have met. I love people. I am a connector, a communicator and problem solver.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I am for universal healthcare. Healthcare for profit has ruined our healthcare and made it unaffordable. Studies show we could save billions of dollars a year if we had universal healthcare. It is estimated we lose 68 thousand lives a year because of no insurance. Five hundred thousand to one million people declare bankruptcy a year due to medical bills. We are the richest country in the world and we can afford it.I am for affordable housing and a livable wage. I call it a burger and a beer. At the end of a work week, a person should be able to go to their own home and enjoy themselves instead of having to work a second or even a third job. We need to have programs for first time buyers and encourage new housing models. No more supply side economics and tax cuts for the rich. The wealthy need to pay their fair share and we need to make our tax code fair. In the last forty years we have moved $50 trillion of our wealth to the top 10 percent. We need to get money to our laborers and not our corporate executives. They average making anywhere from 250-400 to 1. We also need to have a fair market by breaking up and regulating our monopolies, especially those who control our food.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am very concerned about AI and Data Centers. We do not have the public policy and the information we need to plan for the future of our children and our resources. We need to work for the common good and safeguard mankind rather than sellout to technology than impacts everything from work to war. It needs to be regulated.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

I have been told by many republicans in my city they will cross over if I make it to the next step. People are upset and I believe I can convince them to vote for change.
