In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Steve Keyser. I am a retired police officer. Over a long law enforcement career, I have worked patrol, detective work, supervision, narcotics, crime prevention, and budgeting. It is an experience that has taught me how to weigh evidence, spot unintended consequences, and make sound decisions under pressure. Currently, I volunteer with church benevolence projects, the local food pantry, a community medical clinic, and programs that support grandparents raising their grandchildren. My son, Josh Keyser, represents neighboring Legislative District 20 in the Idaho State Senate. He is further proof that public service, and earning voters’ trust the honest way, runs in our family.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Idahoans deserve to keep more of what they earn. If I am elected to the Idaho State House of Representatives, I will fight for property tax and grocery tax relief for Idaho families. Our children deserve the best and parents know their kids best, not the government. If elected, I will ensure that parents get a real seat at the table when it comes to making educational and medical decisions for their own children. Idaho must have strong and safe public schools. As a retired police officer, I know firsthand what it takes to keep a community safe. Idahoans deserve neighborhoods where families feel secure and politicians with the right experience to make that happen.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Idaho Family Values, REAL Tax Relief, Strong Schools, and Public Safety.
