Stephanie Popescu is a public school teacher and a mom who built her life in the community she’s running to represent. She’s spent over a decade preparing the next generation for success, and she’s seen firsthand the challenges affecting Maryland families today. Stephanie believes it’s time for new leadership, grounded in responsible spending, a strong economy, and common sense.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Maryland families budget carefully every day, and it's time for state government to do the same. Stephanie believes leaders owe taxpayers honesty, discipline, and thoughtful stewardship of public dollars. She will work to pass a balanced budget that protects the programs Marylanders rely on without increasing tax burden.Every child deserves a world-class education, and every parent deserves the confidence that public schools are preparing their students for the future. As a teacher and a mother, Stephanie knows what works and what’s falling short. She’ll fight to attract and retain great teachers with better pay and stronger support, while making sure struggling students get the resources they need to catch up and thrive.Families in our community work hard and play by the rules, but it's hard to get ahead when prices keep rising. Stephenie will hold utility companies accountable, fight price manipulation at the grocery store, and address the housing shortage driving up rent. She believes Maryland's economy should work for everyone, Marylanders deserve a state government that actually delivers.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Like many Maryland families, Stephanie knows what it means to feel the pressure of rising costs and growing uncertainty. Early in her career, she worked three jobs to make ends meet while teaching full-time. That experience shaped her understanding of what so many people are going through today: working hard and still struggling to keep up. That’s why she decided to run, to be a leader who understands these realities and is focused on delivering meaningful solutions.
