Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Stephanie Berardi is an entrepreneur, a mom and leader that that understands the challenges of small businesses. She began her career as a radio personality for Disney and had a positive impact on thousands of families. She served the public sector, policy leadership, community advocacy and has personally helped many constituents across the district while working for former State Rep, Steve McCarter. She played a key role in creating the Climate Caucus in Harrisburg and helped residents navigate some of their most difficult moments, from unemployment claims during the pandemic to environmental crises like the SPS factory fire, and infrastructure challenges. She served in the senate and helped shape environmental legislation (GO100PA), advancing Pennsylvania’s transition to clean, healthy energy. She was the Regional Communications Manager for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, where she managed crisis communications across critical DEP programs. She was appointed to become the subject matter expert (SME) for the Energy Programs Office. She served on Jenkintown’s Environmental Advisory Committee, the Steering Committee for Jenkintown 2035, and Rec. board. She would like to become the first woman elected to run the 154th legislative district.

Progress for Pennsylvania was created so voters can have a choice. Running as a independent allows all voters in this race an option in the general election.Stephanie has over a decade of state and local government experience. She understands how state government works and will fight for what she believes in.Stephanie's focus is on staying true to her core values; kindness, decency, and maintaining a positive attitude.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Environmental protection is her passion. She worked as the Regional Communications Manager for the Department of Environmental protection. She understands how Air and water, permits, radiation protection, energy programs, waste, grants, brownfields, storm water management, pipelines, climate change, permits, and mining. Her goal is to help strengthen regulations and introduce new legislation that will help protect our planet.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

Rosie the Riveter.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Kindness, empathy and compassion.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Providing the best constituent experience to those that need help navigating though state government.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I want to help preserve the environment for future generations.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I was a server at 15 years old.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Being a good mom.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

One that works together to get legislation passed.

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

Clean energy, clean water, and land preservation.

Yes.
