In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I was born and raised in rural Mid-Missouri, where I learned the value of hard work, family, and community. Growing up on a small farm, I saw firsthand what it means to work hard and help your neighbors.
I became a single mother at 18, finished high school, and began my career with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Like many families, I relied on programs like WIC and Medicaid during a difficult chapter of my life before getting back on my feet. Those experiences shaped my understanding of the challenges many Missourians face.
As the mother of a son with autism and two children with dyslexia, I've spent years advocating for my family and helping other parents navigate education and disability services. I've served on our county's SB40 Board, helped organize inclusive community events, and worked to build an all inclusive playground so every child has a place to belong.
Today, my husband and I operate our third generation family logging business while I continue pursuing my bachelor's degree in political science with minors in psychology and sociology.
Everything I've done, as a mother, small business owner, volunteer, and advocate has been rooted in the same belief: when you have the opportunity to make your community better, you step up and help.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Help Our Kids:
I know firsthand how hard families have to fight to get the support their kids deserve; I’ve been advocating for my own children with learning disabilities for years. Every child deserves access to a strong public education, with the resources and support they need to succeed. In rural Missouri, our schools are the heart of our communities, and it’s time we fully fund and protect them.Cost of Living Crisis:
Families across Missouri are feeling the squeeze as the cost of groceries, utilities, and healthcare continues to rise. Working people shouldn’t be falling behind just to afford the basics. It’s time for real solutions that lower everyday costs and make life more affordable for the people who keep our communities running.Rural Towns Matter:
Rural communities deserve the same level of investment and opportunity as anywhere else. That means fixing roads and bridges, expanding reliable high-speed internet, and ensuring access to quality, local healthcare. When we invest in rural infrastructure, we strengthen entire communities and create a future people can build their lives in.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Public education is the issue closest to my heart. As the mother of a son with autism and two children with dyslexia, I've spent more than 20 years advocating for my own kids and helping other families access the resources and support their children need to succeed. I've seen how dedicated teachers and school staff change lives, but I've also seen how funding cuts often impact specialized programs, intervention services, and classroom supports that students with disabilities rely on. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential, regardless of their challenges or circumstances.
