Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am Shawn Mickelonis, a lifelong New Hampshire resident, small business owner, former State Representative, NH Department of Transportation Project Commissioner, and Chairman of the Greater Dover Republican Committee. I have spent my career serving my community, creating jobs, and fighting for accountability in government. As a business owner and blue-collar advocate, I understand the challenges facing working families, seniors, and small businesses. I am running for State Senate to bring proven leadership, common sense solutions, and a strong voice for Dover, Somersworth, Barrington, and Rollinsford.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Taxes, Affordable Energy & Responsible Government
New Hampshire families and businesses are struggling with rising costs. I will fight to protect taxpayers by controlling government spending, opposing broad-based taxes, reducing unnecessary regulations, and working to lower energy costs. Affordable, reliable energy is essential for families, seniors, and small businesses to thrive. Government should focus on solutions that make New Hampshire more affordable and competitive.Safer Communities & Stronger Public Safety
Building a Stronger Future for Our Families
Our communities need affordable housing, good-paying jobs, quality education, and opportunities for the next generation. I will work to support small businesses, expand workforce development, protect local control, and create policies that allow families to succeed and stay in New Hampshire.
Public safety is the foundation of a thriving community. I will support our police, firefighters, and first responders, strengthen laws against organized retail crime, address the impact of drugs and homelessness on our communities, and make sure criminals—not law-abiding citizens—are held accountable.Building a Stronger Future for Our Families
