Hi! I'm Shaara Watts, running for State Delegate for 29C. My main message is WATER. Calvert and St. Mary's Counties share a water source which is dwindling. Building and development must be on a regional basis, sustainable, with an eye toward water use, and with fostering local business in mind.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Water use. Calvert and St. Mary's Counties share a water source (the Aquia and Patuxent Aquifers which are dwindling). All development must be approached on a regional basis.Jobs. Local business should be fostered to become the employers we need. In addition, AI is going to eliminate a lot of jobs. Retraining workers and preparing our students for the workplace of the future is key.Power. Maryland pays the highest utility costs in the country due to the stalling of renewable-source projects. I support the transition from fossil- to renewable-sources.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
