In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am running for Wyoming State Treasurer to provide steady, responsible leadership that answers directly to you—not to the bureaucracy. Wyoming is built on faith, family, and hard work, and those are the exact principles I live by every day here in Goshen County.
I have served in the Wyoming House of Representatives for District 5 for the last four years. I have had the privilege to serve on the Joint Appropriations Committee and while serving, I helped slow down the growth of government.
As a Republican I firmly believe in the timeless truths held by the Wyoming Republican Party Platform. I consistently fight to protect life, reduce wasteful spending of the peoples taxes, reduce property taxes, provide school choice , and keep out harmful industries that want to take advantage of the people of Wyoming.
As the code of the west says: " Some things are not for sale." Many elected officials look only at the dollar signs to see how they can get more of your money to spend. I look at the total cost and some things are not worth selling like our state lands, our precious water, and Wyoming is not a waste dumping ground.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
We can do better with our investments. The current rate of return on our funds has only been 5.7% since 2019 but if we had done nothing but put the funds into a mutual fund that followed the S&P 500 we could have made 18.2%. In addition to this poor investment strategy, the state has paid over $886 million (12%) in investment earnings for third party fees. We pay 12% to others for us to get 5.7% something needs to change. Our State Treasurer sits on the State Land and Investment Board (SLIB) and I believe that 4 of the 5 board members have been selling out Wyoming Lands to the highest bidder. One sale was $100 million to the federal government to expand the national park. But many state leases have been sold out to Wind and Solar projects that now cover our state landscape. One of those projects was going to use the "Green" energy and take eight gallons of water and turn it into one gallon of hydrogen fuel to then be sent to the Denver Airport. Water in Wyoming is to valuable to be sold out like that.As State Treasurer, I will have an independent, forensic financial audit to make sure that your state tax dollars are being used the way that the law mandates. I want to make sure the office is above reproach and make sure that there is no fraud, waste or abuse of tax payers monies.
