In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Sara Fuchs is a librarian, political consultant, campaign manager, and longtime advocate for strong schools, thriving communities, and access to information and opportunity.

She's spent her career working in higher education, libraries, archives, and cultural institutions in Georgia, .preserving and making accessible the stories and knowledge held in our communities. Most recently, she served as project manager for a Mellon-funded initiative at Emory’s Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library.

She's also spent six years working at the Capitol for Georgia State House Rep. Betsy Holland (HD 54). She knows how the State House works.

A longtime resident of the Roswell area, she's deeply involved in her local community. She serves as the Student Governance Council Parent Representative and PTSA Fundraising Chair at a Title 1 middle school and was the PTA president at a Title 1 elementary school.

She prioritized raising and allocating funds so that no need was unmet and no child did without. She's also seen firsthand the importance of strong public schools and the difference that engaged communities can make for children and families, and how the Georgia state government has underfunded the schools for years under her opponent's watch.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Georgia’s public schools are underfunded, and it shows. Overcrowded classrooms, underpaid teachers, and families paying out of pocket for basics like school lunches and supplies.

What will I do about it:

Fully fund public education so no classroom goes without.

Raise teacher pay so Georgia stops losing good teachers to other states.

Guarantee school lunches and basic supplies for every kid, no exceptions.

During my opponent’s 23 years in office, state funding for education has fallen by 11 points. That burden has shifted to the taxpayers, while 11.6 billion dollars sits in the state's reserves. Our schools deserve better.Healthcare that doesn’t bankrupt you.

Georgia is one of the last states in the country that hasn’t expanded Medicaid, leaving hundreds of thousands of Georgians without coverage. Chuck Martin hasn’t sponsored a single healthcare bill in his time in office.

What will I do about it:

Expand Medicaid and bring Georgia’s own federal tax dollars home to cover our neighbors.

Lower healthcare costs for working families.

Protect access to reproductive healthcare.Affordability

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about strong public schools, affordable communities, accessible healthcare, and responsible government. I believe Georgia should fully fund its commitment to public education rather than shifting costs onto local property taxpayers. I also believe patients, families, and doctors—not politicians—should make personal healthcare decisions. Above all, I want government to spend taxpayer dollars responsibly and focus on the issues that directly affect Georgia families.
