In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Saif Rehman is a Howard County resident, technology entrepreneur, and founder and CEO of NextGen Consulting Inc. He holds a Ph.D. in management information systems and has spent two decades helping public- and private-sector organizations improve performance and accountability. After listening to residents at nearly 4,000 doors, he qualified for the 2026 ballot by petition as an unaffiliated candidate for Maryland House of Delegates, District 9A.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
District 9A deserves an independent, issue-focused voice. I will evaluate every proposal on its merits—not on which party introduced it—and work with anyone who offers practical solutions for our communities.Make Maryland more affordable and accountable. Families need relief from rising taxes, fees, utility costs, and housing pressures. Government should measure results, explain spending clearly, and stop asking residents to pay more for less.Improve education outcomes and constituent service. Maryland should connect school spending to measurable student progress, modernize outdated systems, and give residents responsive representation. District 9A elects two delegates: vote for whomever you trust first, and make your second vote independent.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about affordability, education reform, accountable government, energy and utility costs, open primaries and fair ballot access, support for small businesses, and modern public services. My background in technology and program performance shapes a practical approach: define the problem, measure results, publish the facts, and correct what is not working.
