Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Growing up, my parents provided for my sister and I, but struggled to get ahead. I spent most of my summers in Georgetown working on a farm. It was hard work, but I knew we didn’t have much and wanted to contribute. I learned the value of hard work at a young age, that's stuck with me. My interest in public service started about ten years ago when I first met Russ Meyer. He came to my door campaigning one afternoon. It was the first time I had met an elected official, and I was surprised he was willing to give some 20-something-year-old this much of his time but also genuinely cared what I had to say. I am committed to being the same kind of hard-working, selfless public servant. I can only hope to do as much for the people of the district as Russ did. I grew up in the Lexington/Nicholasville area. Before attending BCTC, I attended Millcreek Elementary, Tates Creek Middle, and East Jessamine High. I started my work life bagging groceries, in car sales, and for the last decade in commercial pest control. I am familiar with putting in a hard day’s work. When I'm not working, I spend as much time as I can with my two beautiful little girls, Emory, age 13, and Audrey, age 3, who mean everything to me. One of the great joys of my life is coaching Emory’s soccer team. It provides me with an opportunity to spend time with my daughter, and share with her the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Watching Frankfort I think they could use more teamwork and sportsmanship.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I value public education and will ensure taxpayer money continues to go to public schools and stays within them. Charter schools run by out-of-state corporations or paying for school vouchers only benefits the wealthy and select few it doesn't benefit the majority of Kentuckians.Women's Rights continues to be resurfacing in a way meant to diminish the hard earned rights women should have always had. I oppose the extremist who believe the government and not women and their doctors should be in charge of their healthcare decisions.I will work for us- not corporations and their lobbyists who rig the system against working Kentucky families. I support unions, workers rights, and the working Kentuckians maintaining rights and a voice in workplaces.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about helping people and being a part of my community thriving. I believe in civil rights, women's rights, workers rights, everyone should be fairly and equally represented and have access to organized assistance. Healthcare concerns shouldn't be mandated by the government, education shouldn't be restricted or accessible to only certain groups or individuals. I will fight for a better Kentucky and for equal rights.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Compassion, Integrity, Leadership, Hard Worker

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

I believe that the core responsibilities of an elected state representative would be representing the wants and needs for their constituents as well as a voice for them.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I'd like to leave a legacy that my girls are proud of and that provides safe, equal, and healthy opportunities for them. I want my family to be proud and my efforts to reflect in a quality future for them.

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

Transparency especially when it comes to finances is key in building trust and aiding in accountability by forcing visibility to funding and structure.
