In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My name is Robert Richard-Snipes, and I’m running for the New Hampshire House because Hillsborough District 40 deserves a representative who listens first, shows up consistently, and puts people before politics.

Raised by a single mother and combat veteran who served our country through five deployments, I learned that leadership means service, resilience, and accountability. Those values have guided my career in nonprofit leadership, housing, mental health, and substance use recovery. I’ve worked alongside individuals and families experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, and financial hardship, and I’ve seen firsthand how good public policy can change lives.

I also know the value nonprofits bring to our communities. Every day, organizations across New Hampshire reduce the burden on emergency rooms, law enforcement, schools, and taxpayers by helping people before they reach crisis. Investing in people isn’t just compassionate—it’s practical.

I’m running because I want more people with lived experience and frontline knowledge helping shape policy in Concord. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I know how to listen, build partnerships, and bring people together to solve problems.

My campaign is organized on doorsteps—not in donor rooms—and my platform is written with neighbors, not for them. Together, we can build stronger communities, a more secure future, and bold solutions that work for every Granite Stater.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Strong communities. Built when everyone has the opportunity to thrive. I’ll work to expand affordable housing, strengthen mental health and substance use treatment, invest in public education, and support the nonprofits that keep families stable and healthy. Having spent my career in housing, behavioral health, and nonprofit leadership, I’ve seen how investing in people before they reach crisis strengthens neighborhoods, improves public safety, and saves taxpayer dollars.Secure Future.Every Granite Stater deserves the opportunity to build a secure future. I’ll fight for good-paying jobs, fair wages, paid family leave, and an economy where working families, small businesses, and young people can succeed. I’ll support policies that keep New Hampshire affordable, strengthen our public schools, protect our natural resources, and ensure future generations can continue to call Manchester and New Hampshire home.Bold Solutions. New Hampshire’s challenges require practical leadership, not political gridlock. I’ll bring the perspective of someone who has worked on the front lines of housing, mental health, and nonprofit services, using data and community input to solve problems. My campaign is organized on doorsteps—not in donor rooms—and my platform is written with neighbors, not for them. I’ll listen, build partnerships, and pursue bold, community-driven solutions that deliver real results for Granite Staters.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I’m passionate about building strong communities, creating a secure future, and advancing bold solutions that improve people’s lives. My work in housing, mental health, substance use recovery, and nonprofit leadership has shown me how public policy affects families every day. I’m committed to expanding affordable housing, strengthening behavioral healthcare, supporting public education, protecting civil rights, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are invested wisely. I believe the best policies are shaped by listening to the people most affected, building partnerships, and delivering practical solutions that create opportunity for every Granite Stater.
