In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Robert Qua, and I am running to represent the people of Rochester's Sixth Ward in the New Hampshire Statehouse. For more than fifteen years, I have served as a special educator in our public schools, and for the last seven years, I have been an educational leader dedicated to empowering our students and strengthening our communities.
Growing up as a Navy brat, I moved every few years as my father served our nation with honor and dedication. His service instilled in me a profound sense of duty that drives me today. My wife and I chose New Hampshire over a decade ago, leaving behind the cosmopolitan trappings of Washington D.C. for something far more valuable — the Live Free or Die spirit that makes our state exceptional.
New Hampshire is not just where I live; it's the only true home I've ever known. Now, I feel compelled to step forward and serve my neighbors, to preserve and expand the New Hampshire advantage that makes our state a beacon of freedom and opportunity. Together, let's build a stronger community that honors our values and secures prosperity for generations to come.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
The New Hampshire Advantage: The people of New Hampshire benefit greatly and in countless ways by embracing limited government and low taxes. Our way of life is the foundation of independence and prosperity. Preserving and expanding that advantage is the best thing I can do for us in Concord.Defend the Guard: I believe that our brave young men and women are the most precious resource we have. They should not be thrown wantonly into meaningless conflicts of choice around the globe on the whim of Washington bureaucrats. Defend the Guard legislation will keep our brave soldiers here, where they are needed, unless the federal government does what is constitutionally required to activate them.School Choice: I have been in special education for my entire career. I have always worked at public schools. I know their strengths and I know their weaknesses. What I have learned is that believing education is important is not the same as believing public education is the best or the only way to accomplish the goal of producing productive and fulfilled citizens. New Hampshire needs to continue to lead the way in creating and developing educational options so that every child and family can get the education that they want while reducing the burdens of local property taxes on all citizens.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Reducing government spending and keeping taxes low.
Increasing school choice.
Passing Defend the Guard.
Protecting property rights (including gun rights).
Reducing regulatory barriers for businesses and workers.
