In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I'm Robert P. Henri, and I'm running for Congress because I believe the government is supposed to work for the people, not for insiders, lobbyists, and powerful special interests. I'm not a politician, but I am a problem-solver, and right now our country needs solutions. That's why I founded Project Due Course and built a plan of 18 reforms to restore accountability in Washington; not talking points, but specific fixes backed by evidence and sources anyone can check at ProjectDueCourse.org. I come from a working-class background, and I believe Washington needs more people with real-world experience who understand what ordinary Americans are up against. I'm a husband, a father, and an average American who believes public service should still mean serving the public.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Americans have been clear for years about the changes they want to see in government, but Congress keeps refusing to act. When more than 70% of Americans want a law passed and Congress refuses to vote on it, it's time to vote in a new Congress. There is no accountability in the system. Misconduct has become normal, and consequences optional. I believe in real transparency, real enforcement, and laws that cannot be ignored. I'm proposing 18 government reforms through Project Due Course that will restore trust in our government, force transparency from the people in power, and demand accountability when laws are broken. I will hold myself to that same standard.Only about 2% of Congress comes from a working-class background, and that helps explain why so many Americans feel ignored by the people supposed to represent them. Representation matters because the government works differently when lawmakers actually understand the lives, pressures, and tradeoffs ordinary people face. More working-class voices in office means a government that stays closer to the people it serves.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

My focus is accountability, transparency, and enforcement in government. Public officials are supposed to be public servants, and that means the people deserve a government they can watch, question, and hold accountable. In today’s system that’s not happening. It’s time to reform the government and rebuild the guardrails. That's exactly what the 18 reforms in my platform Project Due Course are designed to do.
