Background

Rick McClure was born in Plainview, Texas.[1] McClure earned a master's degree in divinity from Central Christian University in 2000 and a doctorate in ministry from Christian Leadership University in 2002. His career experience includes working as the lead pastor of Lifepoint Community Church of Malvern, Arkansas.[2] McClure has served as the chairman of the board of the Hot Spring County Economic Development Group, as a member of the executive committees of Hot Spring County Conversations and the Malvern/Hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the College of the Ouachitas board of trustees, and with the Southwest Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority.[1][2]

Rick McClure grew up the son of a tenant farmer. Early on he learned the value of hard work and good money management. After 20 years in the business world, Rick is currently the pastor at Lifepoint Community Church in Malvern. Rick, and his wife Cindy, of 22 years have four children between them, and four grandchildren. Rick has a Master of Divinity degree from Central Christian University and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Christian Leadership Seminary. Cindy is a retired public-school educator. Rick has previously been recognized as one of Hot Spring County Dynamic Dozen and voted Pastor of The Year by Hot Spring County.

"After much prayer and consideration, I recently filed for the office of State Representative for District 26. I am a lifelong conservative who will fight for the rights of the unborn, for lower taxes, and will advocate strongly for District 26. Our country is in a trying time and we need strong leadership. I'm humbly asking for your support and vote so I can bring that leadership to Little Rock on our behalf."

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

From a governmental stand point I admire our founding fathers. Their dedication against all odds is amazing. They formed a governmental structure that has lasted through good and bad times.

What legacy would you like to leave?

He listened, then helped the people.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The assassination of President Kennedy. I was five years old.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

No. A willingness to listen to the people, and ethics are more important than experience.

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

Yes. In any environment it is wise to have good relationships with those you work with if you want to get anything accomplished.
