In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m a Montanan running to represent my neighbors in Helena. I care deeply about healthcare access, public education and the environment. I’m proud to be raising my own family in my hometown of Billings.

I have served the city of Billings since 2017 as a member of the Community Development Board. I was elected as board chair in the years 2019-2024 during which time I helped direct city staff’s implementation of federal COVID era funding in the city’s development division. With my input, the city funded many improvements in neighborhood parks including the adult exercise equipment in North Park and the Heritage Trail pavement through Pioneer Park as well as the project which brought the first public restroom to downtown Billings. I have demonstrated consistently that I’m an effective advocate for my community.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Public education in Montana needs to be fully funded in a way that offers equitable opportunities for all students in the state. I will work with all stakeholders to find a solution to the state’s funding formula so that it supports our school districts fully. Public education is a guarantee in the Montana constitution and the state needs to uphold its commitment to residents.Healthcare is a human right. The current administration’s severe cuts to healthcare programs are already impacting families across Montana who have seen their costs increase dramatically this year. I will fight for Medicaid and Medicare funding in Montana and to ensure the state prioritizes the health of all of the people who live here.Public lands belong to all of us. I will never vote to privatize public lands.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Public education and healthcare. As well as public land access and environmental stewardship.
