In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a veteran, healthcare professional, small business owner, and community leader committed to transparency, accountability, and service. I spent over 30 years as a nurse, including 20 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner, most recently caring for our nation’s veterans through the VA. My work has always focused on precision, responsibility, and serving others with integrity.
Beyond healthcare, I served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves, operated a small business for over 40 years, and managed a 380-acre ranch focused on conservation and sustainability. I was recently elected to the Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District Board, where I work to ensure responsible stewardship of public resources.
Since moving to New Mexico, I have been actively involved in public policy and election integrity efforts, including sponsoring referendum initiatives and working with organizations focused on transparency and constitutional rights.
I am running for Secretary of State because I believe elections should be accessible, transparent, and trusted. I will work to ensure every eligible voter can participate with confidence, that public resources are managed responsibly, and that trust is restored through clear rules and principled leadership.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Restoring Absolute Election Integrity and Trust
Voters deserve to know that New Mexico’s elections are secure, accurate, and transparent. My primary goal is to implement common-sense safeguards. This includes supporting voter ID requirements and the regular cleaning of voter rolls, to ensure that every legal vote is counted and protected. Restoring public confidence in the democratic process is the foundation of a functional state.Increasing Transparency and Accountability in Santa Fe
As the state’s chief elections officer and registrar of documents, I will bring a new standard of transparency to the Secretary of State’s office. I am committed to making government data more accessible to the public and ensuring that this office operates with strict neutrality and adherence to the law, rather than partisan bias. I will be a watchdog for the people, not a rubber stamp for the political establishment.Cutting Red Tape and Supporting New Mexico Small Businesses
The Secretary of State’s office is the gateway for doing business in our state. I will focus on modernizing and streamlining the business registration process to remove unnecessary hurdles for local entrepreneurs. By making the office more efficient and user-friendly, we can foster a more vibrant economic climate that allows New Mexico’s small businesses to thrive without being buried in bureaucracy.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
1. Election Integrity: Restoring trust through common sense voter ID, regular audits, and aggressive voter roll maintenance to ensure every legal vote is counted and protected.
2. Government Transparency: Making the SOS office a model of openness by ensuring campaign finance and lobbyist disclosures are easily accessible and free from partisan bias.
3. Economic Growth: Cutting "red tape" and modernizing filing systems to turn the SOS office into a launchpad for New Mexico’s small businesses rather than a bureaucratic hurdle.
4. Institutional Health: Drawing on my 30 years in nursing, I believe stable, reliable governance is essential to the overall well-being of our families and communities.
