In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Rahim Asani

I am an immigrant who came to America with a dream of opportunity, stability, and a better future for my family.

Today, I am running for the Georgia House of Representatives because I believe in protecting that dream for all families.

District 108 must remain a place where working families can afford to live, raise their children, and build meaningful futures.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Affordability is one of our most urgent challenges. About one-third of households are spending more than 30% of their income just to remain in their homes. I will work to options, protect residents from displacement, and ensure tax dollars support the people who live and work here.

Families across District 108 are feeling the pressure of rising housing costs, healthcare expenses, insurance, childcare, and everyday necessities.

Economic opportunity should mean stability and not constant financial stress.Immigrants are a vital part of District 108’s strength and diversity.

As an immigrant myself, I understand firsthand the challenges families face. I will support policies that expand access to education, opportunity, and legal protections.

Inclusive communities are stronger communities.Healthcare is simply unaffordable for too many families. No family should have to choose between paying for housing and seeing a doctor.

Georgia remains one of the few states that has not fully expanded Medicaid. We have the resources and responsibility to expand access and make healthcare affordable for all residents.

I support expanding access to affordable healthcare, lowering prescription costs, and strengthening local hospitals.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Economics, Environment, Healthcare, and Public Safety
