In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a born and raised multi generational Wyomingite who works a blue collar job. I believe that the freedoms of an individual should not be trampled on by the government. I am pro-choice pro-gun pro-cannabis and pro-public lands. I care about our democratic elections, have worked as an election judge many times, as well as attended the democratic convention as a delegate for sweetwater county. I am not a career politician. I am not a wealthy individual. I am simply an everyday Wyomingite, and I believe more working Wyoming, people deserve a say in the legislative house. I believe that the legislators should echo the concerns of their constituents. I believe that it is the State's responsibility to increase the quality of life for its citizens.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Wyoming's youth are our most important resource. We must invest in education and in childcare to give our youngest the best chance to succeed. We also struggle to keep our youth 2/3 of young Wyomingites will leave the state before age 25 and most will not return. The quality of life of previous generations is simply inaccessible to many. Housing cost, job scarcity, childcare costs, inaccessibility of mental and physical health care, and a lack of opportunities for graduates are some of the struggles that push our youth to leave. Those who stay face the highest rate of suicide. We must create a state that allows our youth to stay, thrive, and raise families.Healthcare must be accessible and affordable. Wyoming ranks 49th in healthcare. Healthcare premiums are skyrocketing pushing many Wyoming to decline having insurance, ultimately raising the cost as hospitals adjust prices knowing that many of the patients they see will not come with a paycheck from an insurance company. Most Wyomingites live in healthcare deserts, where there is not access causing many a travel hours for care and overs state lines. We must invest in healthcare infrastructure. Those without employee attached insurance, ranchers, small businesses, waitresses, contract workers, and many more. We must expand Medicaid to cover these workers, and work towards Medicaid being available for every Wyomingite who wishes to enroll.Resources must be managed for the benefit of the Wyomingite. Our natural resources should be managed by Wyomingites for our best interest; this includes restricting foreign owned resource extraction and increasing the revenue they contribute to the state and keeping public lands public. Coal, Trona and Oil must continue to be supported as our foundation. We must also invest in Wind, Solar and Nuclear as they are quickly being adapted and we must expand our sectors of energy production to maintain dominance in the field. Responsible use of our land, water, and air must come before corporate greed; the communities most impacted should have the final say.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
We must modernize the tax code, not a new tax on the people but introducing a corporate income tax on large corporations to bolster our state revenue and allow us to reinvest those tax dollars into programs that the state desperately needs to adress. In modest 5%, corporate income tax would bring in millions in revenue to help support the people; without which Wyoming could not exist.
