Background

Rae Krantz (Democratic Party) (also known as Rachel “Rae” Krantz) is running for election to the Delaware House of Representatives to represent District 6. She is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2026. She advanced from the Democratic primary on September 15, 2026.

In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Rae Krantz is a community advocate, software engineer, and mother of two running for Delaware’s House of Representatives in District 6. She believes everyone deserves a safe, healthy, and affordable life. Rae is focused on making our kids’ education creative, building an economy that works for working people, and ensuring our water is drinkable and our air is breathable as the climate continues to change.

She has been a foster parent and a CASA in Delaware’s foster care system. She co-founded Strong Towns Wilmington to empower city residents with a vision for how the city can be strongly connected and financially resilient. She has spent hours knocking on doors and in the state capital, advocating for a higher minimum wage, transparency in our government, and paid family and medical leave. In 2025, she joined the advocacy efforts of Sierra Club Delaware to push for data center regulations.

With over a decade working in software development, Rae has a perspective that is strongly needed in our changing world. It’s not just data centers. With the challenges we’re facing with the rise of big tech and the impact of AI, it’s crucial to have someone who’s actually fluent in these issues to be reading, writing, and voting on our legislation.

In a time of unprecedented changes, our government must be proactive. Accepting the status quo is not cutting it. We can no longer settle for politics as usual.

Rae is ready to continue fighting for working people as a State Representative.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

We need an economy that works for working people. The challenges we face grow greater every day. From rising costs, to AI and automation replacing people in their jobs, to public money being used to fund billionaire corporations, we have a lot to get creative about. Rae wants to ensure we have data privacy protections to combat surveillance pricing. She will push for large building projects to dedicate to using Delaware labor, and be vigilant towards the future and making sure AI and automation is working for working people instead of replacing them. And of course, Delaware will be stronger if we have a robust and thriving network of locally owned and operated businesses, built on a foundation of collaboration and community enrichment. Our kids are our future, and we know that every penny we invest into helping kids grow into healthy, capable adults comes back to us in the form of strong, thriving communities. Rae has spoken with teachers, parents, and kids, and knows people want our schools to have less computers and more creativity so kids can truly learn. We have data showing that focusing on teaching kids how to pass tests means they don’t learn how to think critically or engage with their peers, both of which are necessary for learning. We must support our teachers, and help set both them and our children up for success. The climate is changing, and as a low-lying coastal state, Delaware must be ready. From our electric grid to our water supply, we know the challenges we’ll face over this next decade. With that knowledge, it’s our responsibility to prepare for those changes now. We need more clean energy generation in Delaware, strong water treatment infrastructure, and a truly innovative plan to ensure that the quality of life in Delaware gets stronger as our climate becomes more erratic.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Rae is personally most excited about how changing technology can help us adapt to the changing climate. There is so much potential to build the world we all want to be possible, and all it will take is a little creativity plus a belief in the inherent ingenuity of humans. Rae is focused on ensuring that our goal as a society is to live safe, healthy lives, and believes we can innovate on how we structure private-public partnerships to make that vision a reality.
