Campaign websiteDandiya's campaign website stated the following:Lowering Costs for All FloridiansThe cost of living must be lowered for every FloridianI’m running because too many families are working harder than ever and still finding economic security out of reach. Nowhere is that squeeze sharper than in South Florida, where soaring housing costs and some of the highest property insurance premiums in the country stretch every budget to the breaking point.Bringing down the cost of living will be my first priority. We’ll take on the housing and insurance prices that hit South Florida hardest, lower the cost of prescription drugs, childcare, and healthcare, and crack down on the price-gouging and hidden fees that drain a family’s paycheck.I’ll fight to end the illegal and costly tariffs driving up the price of groceries and everyday goods. This reckless policy lands hardest on those that can least afford it. Lowering these costs isn’t a choice. We must make it so people can afford to live, work, and raise a family here in South Florida. My goal is simple: a Florida where working families don’t just keep up but get ahead — where we shift our focus from helping Americans merely get by to helping every one of us build real economic independence.Cleaning Up a Broken WashingtonGovernment should work for you, not for the insiders and the well-connected.I’m not a career politician. I’m an educator who spent her career building institutions to deliver for people. Washington has stopped doing that. Too often government works for the insiders and the well-connected, while regular families get stuck with the bill, and it’s time to change the rules that let that happen.I’ll fight to ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks, close the revolving door and fight the corrosive influence of lobbyists. This is a people-powered campaign, and the people of this district are the ones I’ll listen to in Congress.Washington won’t start working for regular people again until we achieve real transparency and accountability to hold the powerful to the same rules as everyone else. It’s time to put people back in charge of their own government.Putting People Over PoliticsAmerica works best when we work together.Elected leadership shouldn’t be about headlines or scoring political points — it should be about you.The mindset I’ll bring to Congress is simple: less fighting, more solving. In a district as diverse as ours, the problems people talk about most — the cost of insurance, hurricane and flood resilience, the price of prescription drugs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, restoring the Everglades — don’t belong to one party, and neither do the solutions.I’ll work with anyone, Democrat or Republican, who’s serious about delivering for the families, seniors, workers, and small businesses of South Florida — and I’ll show up in every part of this district, not just the places that already agree with me. Because America works best when we put people over politics and focus on making real progress that lasts.Defending America’s PromiseWe must protect the freedoms and programs that support all of us.A teacher, a nurse, a firefighter. They all pay into Social Security and Medicare with every paycheck, for an entire working life. They’ve earned every dollar of the security those programs provide. I will never let Washington break that promise. I’ll oppose any effort to cut Social Security, raise the retirement age, or hand these programs to Wall Street.Washington has slashed Medicaid and triggered nearly $500 billion in automatic Medicare cuts — all to help pay for tax breaks for the wealthy and big corporations. I’ll fight to reverse the Medicaid cuts and protect Medicare from a Washington that treats the programs seniors and families count on like a piggy bank. The fairest way to keep these programs strong for generations to come is to ask the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share — not to balance the budget on the backs of the people who built this country. And that same promise extends to our veterans, who kept their commitment to us and deserve a country that keeps its commitment to them, with the health care, benefits, and respect they’ve earned.Strong Schools, Bright FuturesEvery child deserves a great education, no matter where they come from.Education isn’t an abstract issue for me — it’s my life’s work. I taught in public schools serving low-income communities. At 28 I was founding principal of a public high school where the vast majority of my students lived in low-income households. Every single graduate earned admission to college, despite the odds. So I know what’s possible when we give every child a real shot, no matter their zip code. That’s why we’ll invest in universal pre-K so kids arrive at kindergarten ready to learn, fully fund strong public schools and the teachers who power them, and build the job training and apprenticeship pathways that prepare young people for careers in a fast-changing economy.Great schools are how we keep the American Dream within reach for the next generation — and I’ll fight for them in Washington the way I fought for my students in the classroom.Protecting Personal FreedomEvery American should be free to make their own decisions about their body, their family, and their future.Freedom means government stays out of the most personal decisions of your life, the choices you and your family make about your health and your future belong to you, not to politicians in Washington or Tallahassee.I trust women to make their own health care decisions, and I’ll work to protect access to reproductive care and contraception so those decisions stay between a woman and her doctor. And I believe every American, no matter who they are or who they love, deserves to be treated equally under the law and to live with dignity. As the daughter of immigrants, I know the promise of this country is that who you are and where you come from should never limit how far you can go.— Pia Dandiya's campaign website (September 14, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
