Patrick O'Connell is a dedicated professional and proud father bringing a wealth of business ownership and customer service experience to this role. As a single father, Patrick built his family by adopting his four sons-with the youngest now 18 and preparing to graduate next year-while also continuing to open his heart and home as a devoted foster parent to children in need. Professionally, he spent years as a business owner of Fisher Wallpaper and Paint in Wyandotte, where he managed daily operations and built strong community ties. Following his time in retail ownership, Patrick transitioned into the insurance industry, leveraging his sharp business acumen and interpersonal skills to protect local families while working with several State Farm agents.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Putting working families first and lowering everyday cost. Our community is facing an affordability crisis, and it is time for a government that puts working families first. I am committed to directly lowering everyday cost by tackling the skyrocketing prices of housing and rent, making quality childcare accessible, and delivering real tax relief. Most importantly, we must protect those who built our community; I will fight to lower property taxes and freeze hem for our seniors, so they are not priced out of their own homes.Trust in government starts with respecting the rights of the people it serves. I am running to protect your individual freedoms and draw a hard line against unnecessary government overreach into you personal life, family and business. Government should work for you, not dictate to you. I will fight for total transparency, defend your constitutional liberties, and ensure that local policies protect personal choice and individual autonomy rather than creating endless red tape.We cannot solve today's challenges by relying on the same old politics a that created them. I am running to break the status quo and deliver a safer, fairer community where every resident has the opportunity to thrive. This means tackling crime and drugs head on, ensuring equal accountability under the law, opening up opportunities for everyone, not just the well connected. I will bring independent leadership and common sense solutions to build a community we can all be proud to call home.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am deeply passionate about enacting meaningful public policies that directly improve our daily lives. My top priorities focus on reforming our tax structures to give families relief, fostering strong job growth, and expanding affordable housing options. I am equally committed to investing in high-quality education for our children and ensuring strong public safety initiatives so that every neighborhood in our community can thrive.
