Prince's campaign website stated the following:

Legislative Philosophy: Spread Love To Everyone

What Does Paperboy Prince Support?

Universal Basic Income ($1,000/month to every American)

$1,000/month universal basic income for every American over 18.

The Freedom Dividend is a $1,000 a month payment just for you that all Americans will receive from the government with no strings attached!

The primary reason for implementing the freedom dividend is to serve as an efficient safety net in a time of economic uncertainty, and with the threat of mass unemployment in the near future due to automation.

The freedom dividend will be pegged to inflation, with the annual monthly payments increasing alongside inflation. However, the dividend cannot deflate(go under $1,000 a month) if US prices drop due to a recession.

The money you receive with the freedom dividend is 100% yours, and you can spend it on whatever you would like! We believe that individuals are best suited to determining their own needs and choices.

The Freedom Dividend has an opt-out. If for whatever reason you would not like to receive the dividend, you do not have to accept it. You can also consider donating your monthly paycheck to charity to help those in need.

The Freedom Dividend is not a “libertarian Trojan horse.” It will not disqualify you from receiving any existing welfare benefits, and if you prefer your current welfare benefits to the Freedom Dividend, you are not required to accept the paycheck.

Medicare For All

Expand Medicare to cover all Americans.

Americans today live in a broken healthcare system. We spend twice as much money as most industrialized countries on the cost of healthcare, yet we receive poorer quality care than many. About 500,000 great Americans go bankrupt every year because they cannot afford their health insurance. We must improve the healthcare system so that it works for all Americans; including the hard-working residents of 7th District!

Paperboy’s solution is pretty simple: to have the federal government pay for the costs of your healthcare, if you desire. Most other developed nations ensure that all their citizens have a right to receive the healthcare they need, and it is time that we do just that and fight for universal, affordable access to healthcare.

Paperboy Care will allow you to keep your freedom of choice: If you like your private plan, and would prefer to stay on a private plan rather than be insured by the government, you can do so. If for whatever reason, you do not want to be insured whatsoever, we believe that you have the right to remain uninsured. But you can opt-in to Paperboy Care at any time for no cost out of your wallet.

Democracy Dollars

Paperboy Prince is calling for a $500 stipend paid from the federal and state governments that can only be used for citizens to donate to political campaigns.

Giving the people $ will create a balancing factor against the money currently in the system, much of which comes from big corporations and billionaires.

The stipend can also be used for people who want to run for office to help fund their own campaigns. There are many financial barriers for poorer and underrepresented people who want to run for office themselves, and lack the financial means to do so. Democracy Dollars will give people a starting contribution, and can help others fund these campaigns as well.

At the local level, “Democracy Vouchers” which are the same thing as Democracy Dollars have proven to work. Seattle is one example.

Democracy Dollars is just one of a number of important reforms Paperboy will fight for in order to help increase people’s participation in government, and give “ordinary” people the tools to run for office and make our country more Democratic.

Spread Love to Everyone

We need to make spreading love a focus of our priorities at all levels of our society, from the government on down.

In accordance with our mission to spread love and strengthening our ties as a community, we will work to establish national community centers in every congressional district in America.

Our community centers will allow people of all backgrounds to come together and hang out, play sports, video-games, and other activities; make new friends, and unite as Americans.

Our community centers will also act as centers for big, new entrepreneurial ideas to take shape. They can potentially serve as centers for local businesses and/or town fairs, concerts, and showcases.

Outside of policy, we encourage Americans to have more parties, celebrations, and spread the love!![10]

—Paperboy Prince[11]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am an artist, rapper, and an activist. I feel that I understand and love the people of this district. I have spent my time on the ground with the people here, in the streets talking to those who are forgotten by traditional politicians, online encouraging my neighbors to take their grievances to their elected officials, and being a daily example of light and leadership in the community.

Martin Luther King Jr said “Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”

Our current representation has been focused on staying in power and putting traditional economic gains of corporations over the love and passion for the people. I think power is important, but without love at the forefront we are doing a disservice to this district that will have to be undone by generations to come. I’m the only candidate to stand on a platform of love and have a track record to back that up. Im energized and so is my base, we are excited to bring new fresh ideas and ideology to this district instead of the same old song that hasn’t gotten us far at all. It is time for a new generation of Americans to bring fresh ideas to the table, get the people involved, and make the change that we want to see in the country. There is no time to wait. It's Our Time!!

Universal Basic Income + Universal HealthcareSpreading LoveGetting People Engaged

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Using our platform and voice to help change the narrative about what we can do together to help push this country forward. For me politically, I'm not left not right but “Up” we want to ascend above this petty bickering that has been american politics in my lifetime. We have so many bigger issues to focus on and we need candidates who have the communication skills of the 21st century to actually get their point across. My ability to use social media, music, live events and performance to help our issues reach the masses is unparalleled. It is because the demcratic party lacks those who know how to use the power of their platform that they have such a hard time rallying up new voters in different districts and gaining support for their policies. When I’m in office ill use my voice to get the message out their about our policies and ideas and then rally interest among those who have been disenfranchised calling them to put pressure on their representatives whether they are democratc or republican.

Spreading Love, by Paperboy Prince

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

The US house of representatives is supposed to be the most directly representative body of government. It is even in the name- House of REPRESENTATIVES. I feel that the House is currently doing a horrible job at actually being a representative body- rather than represent the people they are supposed to serve, they represent the interests of their political party, or maybe their donors and corporations. The people in my district are clearly not very involved in politics- and this can be demonstrated by our terrible voter turnout. We must engage people in the political process, and make sure that our decisions are more reflective of their needs and wants.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

I think that it is a good quality for representatives to have experience of some sort in politics, but it is far from the end all be all of what makes a good representative. I also feel that the only experience that matters is successful experience, and that "political experience" is often used as a red herring to keep the establishment, career politicians in place. In my district, our representative, Nydia Velazquez, has been in office since the year I was born, and this is the case for many politicians in many districts across the country. Many of these politicians are disconnected from the needs of the people of their district and the problems of the 21st century, and we need a new wave of engaged representatives to challenge them in elections, and be more representative of their district.

I also have personal experience as an intern for a Congressman in Maryland. I got to see much of the legislature as well asa the Supreme Court, and how the process works. I plan on improving the process, not destroying it.

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

In the next 10 years technology and automation will redefine our workforce and every fabric of our economy and community. We need elected officials that not only understand how to use and regulate this tech but also have the vision to create innovative solutions to the problems of the future. As a web developer and digital strategist I can help ensure that we are able to best take advantage of the new technology and make sure that it serves the people rather than merely the corporations and big banks.

Changing the fundamentals of the economy so that it serves the people is the broader point that I want to touch on. I do not have hate for the big corporations or the big banks, I only want to spread love. But these companies are currently incentivized to make decisions to maximize profits, which can sometimes come at the expense of working, poor, and middle class Americans. I want to shift the focus away from maximizing profits, and towards how we can help people thrive. I do not want to stop businesses from making profits, or operating in a free market. But I want to make sure that we can change the incentives so that they can help tackle some of these huge societal problems, whether it is automation, climate change, or Coronavirus. The Current incentives can lead to big businesses ignoring these issues and participating in corruption, and this is not a healthy economic system.

If you are not a current representative, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?

I would love to join the Ways and Means committee in the interest of making it more modern, creative, and technology focused. I would also like to join the energy and commerce committee to help make public power a reality nationwide. The Natural resources committee would be a great fit for me as we fight to help combat the effects of climate change. The small business committee I could help to revolutionize as I have owned small businesses and work with many independent contractors and business owners who see how globalization and large corporations are taking over our cities and the small businesses that make them great.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

I believe we need term limits for congress members. This is an important reform we can hope for. It gives higher accountability to the people and ensures that we won't have public servants acting is Kings and Queens because they know they will keep the seat until they pass away or have a serious illness. Right now they feel like this is “their seat”.... but it's not, its the people’s seat, and you should be more focused on working for us instead of making sure you have a 30 year job with benefits.

I would implement this reform by educating the masses on how important the job of a congressperson is and how essential it is that they are bound by term limits so that we can continue to have fresh ideas in office instead of people that may be out of touch with the life of the average American. So many people think the president makes the laws, they don’t realize that Congress has so much legislative power.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?
