Nnamdi Chukwuocha

Nnamdi Chukwuocha served in the U.S. Army from 1990 to 1993. He graduated from Delcastle Technical High School. He received a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in social work from Delaware State University in 1998. Chukwuocha's career experience includes being a social worker. He previously served on the Wilmington City Council as President Pro Tempore and Chair of the Education, Youth and Families Committee. He was appointed the State of Delaware's 17th Poets Laureate as part of the spoken-word duo Twin Poets.[1][2]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a US Army veteran, A licensed master social worker with over 35 years of direct and administrative experience within a nonprofit sector. I am a artist Poet and current Poet laureate, for the state of Delaware

Real leadership real results. I have worked with and for my community and fought hard in Dover to bring resources and investment to our district.Educational equity. Our public schools are some of the most lowest performing in our state. I am leading the battle to help improve our schools.I have proven myself to be a very effective legislator, passing many significant bills that impact the quality of life for residentsbthroughout our state. I have worked across the aisle and have had an impact in the general assembly.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Education, healthcare, Veterans seniors. Corrections and housing
