Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a mom, an entrepreneur, and a nonprofit founder. I was born in Vietnam and brought to this country as a baby. Public education and the generosity of community gave my family a shot at the American dream. That experience is not a talking point for me; it is who I am.
I’m running for Congress as an Independent — not because it’s easier, but because it’s right.
I believe our district deserves a representative who answers to people, not party leadership or special interests.
I’ve created jobs, managed budgets, and worked with families to build stable lives. I co-founded a federal education subcommittee where I worked with leaders from both parties to improve student outcomes. That experience showed me when we focus on solutions instead of labels, progress is possible.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I’m running as an Independent because our district deserves leadership focused on people — not party loyalty or partisan gridlock.
Both parties have failed at addressing the most basic issues. Working families in our community are doing everything right — and still falling behind. Costs keep rising. Housing, groceries, childcare, and healthcare stretch household budgets to the breaking point.
I will work to make life more affordable, protect Social Security and Medicare, lower healthcare costs, strengthen public education, support small businesses, and restore accountability and transparency in Washington. We are at a critical crossroads in our country; we need a NEW WAY FORWARD—one that puts people first and unites us, not divides us. That is why I am running as an Independent.
Our communities deserve leadership that doesn't just repeat party message points. It deserves bold leaders willing to listen and act to secure today while building opportunities for a tomorrow.
For too many families in CA-40, life isn't just getting harder—it's becoming more and more challenging. Despite working full-time, many of us are falling behind as costs for housing, healthcare, and basic necessities continue to climb. This campaign is built on three pillars: economic stability, affordable healthcare including mental health care, and strong public education. When these systems are sound, families can breathe, plan, and believe in their future again. We can protect Social Security and Medicare, support small businesses, secure our border while honoring human dignity, and defend personal freedoms, while restoring accountability and fiscal discipline.
I’ll work with anyone — Democrat or Republican — who is serious about solutions. I reject extremism and commit to focusing on restoring stability, fairness, and trust.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Public school was my lifeline. I came to this country as a refugee. I did not speak the language. What I had was a classroom, a teacher who saw me, and a system that said: you belong here regardless of where you came from or what you have. Public education did not just teach me English. It gave me the tools to think, to question, to build something. That is why what is happening today to our education system keeps me up at night.
Similarly, we have an unaddressed mental health crisis in our country.
I founded the WonderSeed Foundation, an organization that has helped thousands of young people heal and build brighter futures. We teach young people resiliency and the assist them to develop emotional tools to lead productive lives.
