Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Having served on the school board, I have had a first-hand account at how underfunding our public schools dramatically impacts our local school districts and the burden it has placed on local taxpayers. I value fair education funding and advocating for our local small businesses that help support our community. With my passion for these issues coupled with my experience being effective in leadership positions, I can deliver more resources, support, and much needed reform to our community. Born and raised in Allentown, this is home and I wish to continue to serve my community, not just because I have a passion for the work but because of how deeply public service runs in my family. My mother, who raised me on her own from the age of nine, has been a major source of strength and inspiration for me when beginning my journey into public service. By electing me to the PA State Senate, I will build community relations and establish new partnerships that will positively change the lives of all of the members within our diverse community.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Fair education fundingProperty tax reform and economic developmentEnvironmental conservation

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

One of my biggest priorities is getting all of PA public schools to be fairly funded. Currently, only 17% of Pennsylvania's education funding for k-12 goes through the updated fair funding formula. We need to fully implement the formula to 100% of the state education dollars to eliminate an unjust system that has been proven to be detrimental to our children’s education, and which benefits those from higher-income zip-codes. My work and experience on the school board gives me a crucial insight on how to make these changes a reality. For far too long, our students have been at the receiving end of an unfair system that is dependent on property taxes to fund our schools, rather than accessibility for every child to obtain a well-rounded, high quality education regardless of their address.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My mother, her sense of public service and care for her community are admirable.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Advocating for the people within their community

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

September 11th, 2001, I was 6 years old.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I was a project manager at IBM for 3.5 years.

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

Education. Our public schools desperately need funding and resources.

What process do you favor for redistricting?
