In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I have lived in the 43rd District since I was six years old, raised my family in the District, and served inside local government where I advised lawmakers, led community programs and managed public affairs at scale. I have dedicated my career to public service and now lead a non-profit that brings free vision care to uninsured and under-served communities in Los Angeles County. I understand the economic realities of the community I serve, through both lived experience, and from within government on a policy and grassroots level. I am running for Congress to bring new energy, accessible leadership, and a fresh perspective to a district that has waited too long for change.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

For decades, we’ve sent the same leadership to Washington while the challenges here at home have only grown. Families are working harder than ever, yet the cost of living keeps climbing. Healthcare is treated like a luxury instead of a right. And for the next generation, economic stability feels farther away than ever before.

I am a healthcare advocate, a devoted mother, and a relentless champion for our community who is ready to challenge the status quo, not protect it.At this moment, we don’t just need another vote in Congress, we need a fighter who shows up, who listens, and who understands that yesterday’s solutions are not enough for today’s challenges. During the past two administrations, Congress has failed to serve as a check on the President and instead divides itself between party loyalty. It’s a zero-sum game, where ultimately, the American people lose. As a member of Congress, my loyalty and focus will be with the residents of my district–not on partisan politics.I am Carson-raised, a proud child of the public school system, and a graduate of Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. I have deep roots in my community and have dedicated my career to public service–championing the people and places that have shaped my journey.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I'm passionate about the policy issues that are currently impacting my community and the primary drivers of economic instability: Housing Stability and Cost of Living; Economic Opportunity for a Young and Growing Workforce; and Access to Quality Affordable Healthcare.
