Pushkin's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
I believe in the democratic process. A representative of the people should do just that, represent the people. My job is not to keep my job nor treat this office as a feather in my cap...it is to work for you. I will always be accessible to any citizen of this district. My contact info is available on this site and I encourage open communication on any issue that concerns you.
Economic Development
Stimulate the creation and growth of small, locally owned business by offering tax breaks. Work with Secretary of State's office to create a "new business owner's kit" to help guide the entrepreneur and simplify the process.
Protecting the Safety Net
Programs like Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, WIC, SNAP, CHIP protect our seniors, veterans, children, and the working poor - I have, and I will continue to fight to protect these programs.
Labor Issues
As the president of the American Federation of Musicians Local 136, I strongly support the rights of workers to a good wage, a safe work environment, and collective bargaining.[9]
