Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I was an Eagle Scout growing up, I attended the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Law School.
After completing my education, I moved to Florida almost 17 years seeking economic opportunity and political freedom. I started a successful business which I operate to this day.
I first ran in 2018, won the primary and general, and was reelected in 2020 and 2022. I chose not to run for reelection in 2022, despite what the Times described as “almost certain reelection.” I consistently ran ahead of the Republican at the top of the ticket in each of the general elections (2018, 3 points ahead of DeSantis, 4 ahead of Scott; 2020, 5.5 ahead of Trump; 2022, 2.5 points ahead of DeSantis). I was endorsed in the primary and each general (every time I ran) by the Times in every single election, in part because I properly represented my constituents and kept all my campaign promises. I am the only candidate in my primary who has ever won an election anywhere in Hillsborough County or ever represented a single square inch of Hillsborough County.
Hillsborough County needs a battle tested experienced conservative fighter with a proven track record at the ballot box for this opportunity to defeat the only Democrat on Florida’s Gulf Coast. I am the only candidate in the race to win a seriously contested election anywhere. I am by far the most conservative candidate in the race, and the only one with a consistent track record of voting against bad legislation, no matter the personal cost.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
We need to balance the budget. After decades of profligacy, the interest on accrued debt is now responsible for most of the deficit. We also need to complete the wall. Lastly, we should ensure our military is used to protect American interests and our allies bear the cost of defending themselves. 35 years after the end of the Cold War, and over 80 years after World War II, our allies should assume greater responsibility for their own defense while the United States focuses its military resources on core national interests.I am the most experienced legislator in the race with the best command of the issues. I was known for my strong advocacy and cross-examination. I am the only person in the race with any education or training in the law, which is useful for lawmaking and was known in the Florida legislature as an expert on US and Florida Constitutions. I have the energy, presence, and backbone to fight for conservative principles.Congress should stay within its Article I, Section 8 powers. Government caused increases in costs of living. Food, education, housing, and medical care are heavily subsidized and regulated, resulting in unacceptable price increases. Government must strictly limit its role in the economy to consumer protection and safety. I voted against large billion-dollar expansions of entitlement programs targeting housing and medical here in Florida, because they have resulted only in increased costs and crony capitalism. Previous laws regulating rapidly developing industries have proven to be improvident when not appropr

Campaign websiteBeltran's campaign website stated the following:PlatformAMERICA FIRST. FLORIDA ALWAYS.Mike Beltran was known as "the Billslayer" in the Florida House — defeating bill after bill that would have expanded government or eroded constitutional rights. In Congress, he'll bring that same fight to Washington.SECURE THE BORDERMike stands 100% with President Trump on immigration. We need to finish the wall, deport the criminals and fraudsters, and restore law and order at our southern border. Florida's families deserve security, not an open-border disaster.SAVE AMERICA ACTMike stands with President Trump and will vote for the SAVE America Act to ensure only American citizens vote in our elections, mandate photo ID, and purge noncitizens from voter rolls. Clean elections start with knowing who is actually voting.WORKING FAMILIES TAX CUTMike strongly supports President Trump's Working Families Tax Cut, delivering no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and real relief for seniors on Social Security. These cuts are putting more money into the pockets of hardworking American families that earned it, and Mike will fight to make them permanent.LOWERING THE COST OF LIVINGBidenomics broke the American economy and unleashed historic inflation that Florida families are still paying for, at the grocery store, the gas pump, and the housing market. Mike will fight to cut regulations, unleash American energy, and get government out of the way so prices come back down and paychecks go further.CUT SPENDING & LOWER COSTSWashington's reckless spending is crushing Florida families for generations to come. Mike will fight to balance the federal budget, eliminate waste, and put money back in your pocket.SCHOOL CHOICE & PARENTAL RIGHTSMike championed school choice in Tallahassee and will bring that fight to Washington. Parents, not bureaucrats, should decide how and where their children are educated.SUPPORT OUR VETERANS & MILITARYOur veterans earned their benefits and deserve world-class care. Mike will fight against a woke military agenda and for peace through strength.PROTECT LIFEMike has always fought to protect life. He believes Dobbs was correctly decided and that states, not Washington bureaucrats, judges, or politicians, should set their own policies that include exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother.DEFEND THE SECOND AMENDMENTMike has a perfect pro-gun record. No red flag laws, no magazine bans, no compromise. The Second Amendment is absolute and Mike will fight to keep it that way in Congress.— Mike Beltran's campaign website (August 23, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
