In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m Michelle Hennessee Sears. I am a wife, mom, and small behavioral healthcare business owner. I hold a Masters degree from Ball State in Applied Behavior Analysis. I believe in fiscal conservancy and social liberalism. I believe in the spirit of the 2nd amendment while also supporting common sense regulation and policy on firearms. I believe that our for-profit healthcare system is broken and in desperate need of overhaul beginning with for profit insurance corporations. I believe in Unions. I believe in science and data. I believe that we are only as good as the care and concern we actually provide to the least of us. I believe that marijuana legalization, regulation, and taxation would bolster Indiana’s economy providing support for critical infrastructure and social programs. I believe that our legislators are public servants and should be voting based on their constituents, not their party lines. I believe that listening and finding common ground that bolsters each person’s American dream is the very foundation of our nation and that respectful, educated debate is a vital part of our democracy.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I believe in fiscal conservatism and social liberalism. This means that I support social programs that provide vital supports but that we need to find sustainable ways to fund those programs.I believe in the spirit of the second amendment while also believing in common sense firearm regulation and policy so that our children don’t learn to fear for their lives at school.For-profit healthcare needs serious overhaul and reform starting with for-profit insurance companies so that we are supporting healthcare providers and hospitals allowing for improved quality and freedom of choice.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Healthcare reform, disability rights and programs, legalization and regulation of marijuana and hemp products to bolster Indiana’s economy.
